Mexico Anger High after US Border Patrol Kills Teen
CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico — Mexicans are seething over the second death of a countryman at the hands of U.S. Border Patrol agents in two weeks, an incident near downtown El Paso that is threatening to escalate tensions over migrant issues.
The grieving sister and mother of the dead teenager who was shot by a US Border agent. (AP Photo) class="inside-copy">U.S. authorities said Tuesday a Border Patrol
agent was defending himself and colleagues when he fatally shot the
15-year-old as officers came under a barrage of big stones while trying
to detain illegal immigrants on the U.S. side of the Rio Grande.
About 30 relatives and friends gathered late Tuesday to mourn Sergio Adrian Hernandez Huereka, whose shooting Monday evening came along the border with Texas. He died on the Mexican side of the river.
"Damn them! Damn them!" sobbed Rosario Hernandez, sister of the dead teenager, at a wake in the family's two-room adobe house on the outskirts of Ciudad Juarez.
Preliminary reports on the incident indicated that U.S. officers on bicycle patrol "were assaulted with rocks by an unknown number of people," Border Patrol Special Operations Supervisor Ramiro Cordero said Tuesday.
"During the assault at least one agent discharged his firearm," he said. "The agent is currently on administrative leave. A thorough, multi-agency investigation is currently ongoing."
The shooting happened beneath a railroad bridge linking the two nations, and late Tuesday night a banner appeared on the bridge that said in English: "U.S. Border Patrol we worry about the violence in Mex and murders and now you. Viva Mexico!"
Less than two weeks ago, Mexican migrant Anastasio Hernandez, 32, died after a Customs and Border Protection officer shocked him with a stun gun at the San Ysidro border crossing that separates San Diego and Tijuana, Mexico. The San Diego medical examiner's office ruled that death a homicide.
Mexican President Felipe Calderon said Tuesday that his government "will use all resources available to protect the rights of Mexican migrants."
The government "reiterates its rejection to the disproportionate use of force on the part on U.S. authorities on the border with Mexico," the president added in a statement.
On an unpaved street, gathered around Hernandez's gray metal casket, the teen's family called for justice.
"There is a God, so why would I want vengeance if no one will return him to me. They killed my little boy and the only thing I ask is for the law" to be applied, said the boy's father, Jesus Hernandez.
His mother was less hopeful. "May God forgive them because I know nothing will happen" to them, Maria Guadalupe Huereka said.
Above the casket was a photo of the youth wearing his soccer uniform and his junior high school grade cards, which showed A's and B's.
His mother said he was a good student who never got in trouble. He was the youngest of five children, played on two soccer teams and had just finished junior high school, she said.
The case took a testy turn when U.S. and Mexican officials traded suggestions of misconduct in the incident.
Arturo Sandoval, a spokesman for the Chihuahua state Attorney General's office, said a spent .40-caliber shell casing was found near the body — raising the question of whether the fatal shot was fired inside Mexico, although he did not explicitly make that allegation. That would violate the rules for Border Patrol agents, who are supposed to stay on the U.S. side of the border.
A U.S. official, meanwhile, said video shows the Border Patrol agent did not enter Mexico.
The official, who agreed to discuss the matter only if not quoted by name, said the video also shows what seem to be four Mexican law enforcement officers driving to the edge of the dry but muddy bed of the Rio Grande, walking across to the U.S. side, picking up an undetermined object and returning to Mexico near the area where the boy's body was. Like their U.S. counterparts, Mexican law officers are not authorized to cross the border without permission.
According to the FBI, Border Patrol agents were responding to a group of suspected illegal immigrants being smuggled into the U.S. near the Paso Del Norte bridge, across from Ciudad Juarez around 6:30 p.m. Monday.
One suspected illegal immigrant was detained on the levee on the U.S. side, the FBI said in a statement. Another Border Patrol agent arrived on the concrete bank where the now-dry, 33-foot (10-meter) wide Rio Grande is, and detained a second person. Other suspects ran back into Mexico and began throwing rocks, the FBI said.
At least one rock came from behind the agent, who was kneeling beside a suspected illegal immigrant whom he had prone on the ground, FBI spokeswoman Andrea Simmons said.
The agent told the rock throwers to stop and back off, but they continued. The agent fired his weapon several times, hitting one who later died, said the FBI, which is leading the investigation because it involved an assault on a federal officer. The agent was not injured, Simmons said.
Chihuahua state officials released a statement demanding a full investigation into the death.
The boy was shot once near the eye, Sandoval said. Authorities were still investigating the bullet's trajectory, he said.
Sandoval said he couldn't comment on the video reported by the U.S. official because he didn't know anything about it. "I am unaware about those hypotheses," he said.
Sandoval said Mexican investigators were questioning three teenagers who were with the victim at the time of the shooting.
The boy's sister, Rosario, told Associated Press Television News that her brother was playing with several friends and did not plan to cross the border.
"They say that they started firing from over there and suddenly hit him in the head," she said.
The boy's mother said he had gone to eat with his brother, who handles luggage at a border customs office. While there, he met up with a group of friends and they decided to hang out by the river, she said.
"That was his mistake, to have gone to the river," she said in an interview with Mexico's Milenio TV. "That's why they killed him."
Mexico's Foreign Relations Department said its records indicate the number of Mexicans killed or wounded by U.S. immigration authorities rose from five in 2008 to 12 in 2009 to 17 so far this year, which is not half over.
T.J. Bonner, president of the union representing Border Patrol agents, said rock throwing aimed at Border Patrol agents is common and capable of causing serious injury.
"It is a deadly force encounter, one that justifies the use of deadly force," Bonner said.

All cops are cowards of the worst kind.
you are of course wrong
I agree with you Dave, not all cops are bad but the good cops, good judges, good lawyers, etc. protecting the criminal ones in their midst make all LEOs look like jack booted thugs.
American soldiers killing Mexican youths across the border? Israel is to Gaza as the U.S. is to Mexico.
Your analogy is a bit off. Israel is the size of Rhode Island. (Israel does not stop those living in Gaza from leaving. Israel does stop weapons for destroying Israel from being brought in.) Israeli people are not trying to enter the nations surrounding them illegally and then just taking up residence. And we (USA and mexico), are not yet at war, nor has America declared publicy that all mexicans should be killed, which is what ahmadinajab of iran says regarding the Jews, and he is the one over there inciting those in Gaza. maybe when you are not so angry and can think more clearly you should re-think this analogy.
"Israeli people are not trying to enter the nations surrounding them illegally and then just taking up residence."
jeez louise!
what are the "settlements" then?
Fair enough comments (as are those that follow yours). The image in my mind is of heavily armed soldiers killing innocent children. Israeli soldiers use Palestinian kids for target practice. Looks like our thugs are beginning the same process. It's a simple analogy, and a chilling vision. I mostly intended it as notice for people to be alert to soldiers murdering kids.
OK. Got it. It seemed a big leap and I had trouble getting my mind around it. I do recognize the fact that anything is possible with this "mega business" government of ours. The image that haunts me is the sight of those sniper towers overlooking Gaza and the indiscriminate shooting taking place. Imagine living under the eye of those things.
Louise you need to educate yourself. It is clear you haven't a clue about the situation in Gaza. May I suggest you go to “If Americans Knew” and rachelcorrie.com? Follow the links to where they take you. Go to Arab sites, Jewish sites. Attempt to view the issues from all sides. Learn more about who the government of the US really represents. I get the feeling you're trying to be a good "Christian." I don't know how that's going for you but I hope you're not a teacher.
I do think some of your points are valid but I find I am truly embarrassed for you particularly after this last post.
Did the school you attended teach histroy?
How do you think those European Jews., fleeing the Holocaust get into Palestine in the first place ?
They were SMUGGLED in . They landed illegaly. The British intercepted many vessels and turned them back (See the Exodus) but many others got through. They then proceeded to drive Palestinians off the land with their guns.
How is it you can claim on one hand it ok to kill Mexicans who enter the US Illegaly and on the other suggest Jews from Europe had the right to move into Palestine Illegaly?
As to your "Patriotism". I take it you support then, the peoples of Iraq , Afghanistan, Pakistan and the like killing the American soldiers there? For that matter, for a Palestinian to be "patriotic" under your defintion, those peoples who lives in that area called Palestine when this Jewish Migrants fleeing Europe began to displace them had and HAVE every right to fight them?
I am not a flag waver by any stretch of the imagination nor do I support any government that kills innocent civilians. There is no justification for that. Israel and the US governments are the most hated in the world for their compliance in murder among other atrocities. Further, I find nothing constructive about name calling in dialogue and am adamantly opposed to it. However, to equate what is going on in Gaza to the situation at the border demands an explanation for such an outrageous claim.
These sorts of incidents on the border are going to become more and more common, and will get worse when we start deploying Predator Drones. It's a low-intensity war that's being waged down there, make no mistake.
Got done reading some comments on this in the M$M outlets. Incrediblly most people are of the mindset that these border agents are heroes and this violent child got what he deserved. Why did the rank and file Americans become so mean spirited? It really is disheartening.
I saw those comments too.
Until then I thought I had a pretty good idea of the level of stupidity, frustration, anger and loose-cannon hatred in the U.S.
Like a 'roid rage. Is someone putting steroids in the drinking water?
If rocks thrown across the Rio Grand are a danger why not move 25-yards farther north and call the Juarez police? There's a city police station about a block away.
Obviously the agent was not properly trained or psychologically fit for the job. A professional law enforcement officer would not have fired a handgun at a crowd -- especially one 50 yards away.
When this is all over maybe the border patrol agent will be able to find a job in North Korea shooting across international borders.
"'There is a God, so why would I want vengeance if no one will return him to me. They killed my little boy and the only thing I ask is for the law' to be applied, said the boy's father, Jesus Hernandez.
"His mother was less hopeful. "May God forgive them because I know nothing will happen" to them, Maria Guadalupe Huereka said"
Our hearts go out to these parents and all parents suffering a loss. Mr. Hernandez shows such spiritual wisdom. Yes, there is a God, Mr. Hernandez, and personally I have no doubt that eventually every miscreants will pay, whether we are aware of it or not.
Many good comments. The parallels drawn to stone-throwing Palestinian youths who get shot dead, the fear of drone-related escalation of killings, etc.
Again, there is divine justice, and it works whether we are aware of it or not. However, what do we do besides sign petitions and march--just not enough?
OMG, you folks have really gotten your panties in a wad haven't you? This kid had no business being in the USA illegally; had no business throwing rocks at the border patrol agents or attempting to run from being apprehended. If an American citizen defies a cop doing his/her duty, then we too could get injured or killed.
There is such a thing as the law of unintended consequences and when one defies the law enforcement officers assigned to carry out particular task, then you get, what you get. I am confident that the officer involved did not set out the day thinking, "I guess I will go out and shoot/kill a kid with a rock". Give the officer the benefit of the doubt; that man could be your husband, brother, son or father and is sworn to uphold the laws of this country, the USA and the Constitution of the United States. Mexico and its corrupt systems have don far more to put their citizens at risk for injury by coming here illegally, than any American cop ever did.
>>Give the officer the benefit of the doubt; that man could be your husband, brother, son or father and is sworn to uphold the laws of this country, the USA and the Constitution of the United States
Er no. My brother or my father would not shoot a kid for throwing a rock. Are you saying yours would?
As to "defending the constitution of the United States" another sound bite. A Kid throwing a rock is no threat to the Constitution of the United States. GW Bush and Barack Obama , the CIA , The Pentagon, Dick Cheney , and The US Military have all violated the Constitution of the United States.
This includes suspension of Habeus Corpus, the torture of persons in prisons, warrantless wiretapping, the violation of free speech rights , attacking other countries without authorization of Congress , lying to congress, and so aon and so forth.
Your brave border guard is shooting the wrong people if he tries to defend the Constitution by shooting 14 year old kids.
Fine, then I assume you will have no trouble when the cops come after you with their guns for emitting ilegal greenhouse gases, refusing to pay taxes to contrubute to your society, and other violations, right?
This fawning "respect for authority" - from cops to corproate CEOs is the most creepy thing about the right. You are all filthy thugs.
"you've got your panties in a wad" over the murder of a child?
What I have read is there have been two deaths one by electrocution of an adult and the other by shooting of a child. There is a death penalty by jury for electrocutions in our country and courts of law. When did we give the police the right to be judge, jury and executioner? The police job is to detain not inflict their idea of justice.
Deadly force encounter when a rock is hurled at you, yes maybe, but I have cooled down children throwing rocks by throwing a glass of cold water on them. Police have riot gear, large shields to protect them from debris. If deadly weapons as in guns then that would be different. Does anyone know if just by not obeying the command of a police officer they have a right to shoot dead? Please let me know when this happened.
When is the next Mexican presidential election? Will AMLO be running again?
I hope the Mexican people remember this when they go to vote again.
who kills a 15 year old kid!!
Were is this damn video. If the agent was in the right, we would be seeing the video!!!
BULL SH*T , AS AN AMERICAN, I want to see the damn video!
show me how you shoot a 15 year old for throwing rocks!!!
It's a 15 year old kid. do you people understand a 15 year old kid was shot.
I dont care which side of the border. 15 years old!!!!
Happens everyday in the hood bro, where you been? Thank goodness they were not throwing rocks at the Mexican police.
The kid was well known by the border patrol. He ran with a group of other kids who helped smuggle people across the border. He was at a well known smuggling route. He just got a little too bold. The parents aren't victims, they're accomplices, IMO.
Who here would throw rocks at a policeman?
Oh, and Hernandez, the illegal who was tasered and died. Go here: sdcounty.ca.gov/me/press/press.html. Read the medical examiner report and you'll see he was high on meth amphetamine. The fact that it was reported as a homicide is standard procedure even if it is a result of self-defense. Hernadez was an illegal who fathered five anchor babies.
Now read this story:http://www.sdnn.com/sandiego/2010-04-29/local-county-news/youth-sentenced-to-40-years-for-border-patrol-murder
Got a better perspective now?
CD news sources aren't much better than FOX.
.Smarminess ardent? Smarminess?..... you are one strange cowboy.
I have relied on CD for years to provide me with what I understood to be unbiased posting of articles from around the world. I never really questioned this website before but after the constant one sided posts of inflamitory articles in favor of illegal immigration and open borders I think I'll have to spend more time researching my news. There are two sides of this immigration issue, only one is provided here. Thanks annak for the info. I have found some interesting articles on the radio netherlands website, you can also listen live in english.
Hernadez's primo? Oh brother, we all know how Mexican families can get. Just like Astorga's (killed a deputy here in ABQ)mother who was thrown out of court.
How many times have I seen the mothers weeping in court "miho is a good boy" after he's raped and murdered someone -priceless.
You know I'm from your "neck o' the woods". I know the culture better than you're willing to admit.
Please don't get Carpal Tunnel on my account.
It's others I'd like to keep from swallowing your litanies of horse$h!t.
Semantics?
That's all you got, grasshopper?
Like I thought, you got nothin'.
Good Night, grasshopper. Rest your weary bobble-head.
I am so glad you entered some facts. I only hope others will check it out and see the facts. Instead of just saying 'your government' this and 'your government' that. This is the government of the United States of America. mr president of mexico has NO authority here. OUR borders must be secure !!! There are lots of reasons for that. Drug trade of meth needs to be stopped. Ranchers need to be protected, etc.
When are those who cry about this being an injustice going to work with those who caused it and are, ultimately, responsible for changing it? Not the US, but Mexico. Get off your butts, hold your ground, and do what needs to be done to change your economy and government, instead of trying to enter the US for what Mexico doesn't have. As far the killing goes, what's the uproar about? Happens in US cities everyday, to US children. Don't make this kid out to be some martyr for a cause that's aiming at the wrong target.
My dear ardent, you are like a lit match at a scarecrow convention. Sorry, I just could not resist.
way to go onevoice. if mexico is so upset about it then why don't they keep their people who don't want to enter the USA legally through proper channels home? I think this is outrageous that an outside government - mexico - should assume to have authority over our - USA - policies for our border. I do hate it that a teenager was killed, but maybe his parents should not have taught him that he can do anything and it will be ok, so long as he gets in America. I also hate it that when someone goes into mexico from anywhere, including the USA that they get murdered. I also hate it that the farmer on the (AZ) border was murdured by mexicans crossing illegally not to long ago. and I am sick of people saying this country is a nation of immigrants. you can't compare (a)mexicans coming over illegally (and remaining illegal to avoid taxes, etc), the gangs/drug related mexicans to (b)immigrants who came to this country to work the land and establish laws - you know build a nation - to each other.
Tell me something if you can. Why do you think someone would choose to remain illegal? Several times amnesty has been offered. It is not that difficult to apply. Just have to follow procedure. And I am sure that there are other reasons as well that they don't become citizens, but yes, dear - not paying taxes is a big reason. I know that getting paid cash and then applying for state insurance/food stamps/aid is something that is reprehensible to most people. But if your sending most of your cash back to your home nation you have to be carried by the people of the nation you live in. Are you really unaware of how many illegal aliens get government (through tax dollars), aid? Why do you think people are getting so upset about the increasing number? Why do you think California and other border states such as Arizona are now taking steps to do what they can to lower this number?
Just think about this: if your employer paid you in cash (because YES you work for a little less per hour than an American so you save your employer some money), your food is paid for with food stamps, your medical is through the state or federal government, your rent is subsidized and you have several room mates, you send most of the money 'home' because you can return in a few years and be considered wealthy. Well all that would change if you started working and had a taxpayer id card or social security card. So, as much as I wish you were right I am not a nut. I, unfortunately, know how this works for illegals. You just seem to be defending you know not what!
"what's the uproar about? Happens in US cities everyday, to US children."
sometimes I wonder why I left your glorious cuntry.
This is America’s number 1 export to the world, death. If you can’t defend yourself we will bomb you for your oil. If you elect a government that won’t sell us copper at a price we like we will kill them. There is no continent, including Antarctica, were America won’t kill or steal. Tick, tick, tick the number 1 killer of US troops is suicide.
I posted the following comment today at an El Paso Times comment section. Mosier is the spokesman, and has been for years, for the Border Patrol. Washington Valdez is a reporter for the Times who usually shills for the cops. In the article, she set out a long list of alleged attacks on the BP.
"That's quite a lineup that shill Doug Mosier has furnished credible and myopic reporter Washington Vadez, the pride of the bird cage liner of the southwest.
On the other hand, if you do a bit of basic research at Americas Watch and other credible sources, you will find a list dating back years involving murders, rapes, kidnappings, drug and immigrant smuggling, all by stellar BP agents - all of whom were armed, and all of which occurred on this side of the border.
This latest murder, because that is what it is, all you racist exemplars of white trailer trash, comes on the heels of the one in California, where a man was stomped and beaten to death - by a mob of BP thugs - on this side of the border. And it's all on tape.
Only in a country that is so fearful, as is the United States today, and in renegade Israel, is the crime of throwing rocks punishable by death by firearms.
Friggin murderers.
If teenagers on their side of the border throw rocks, sensible law enforcement agents do the right thing. They retreat.
But not American psychotic federal agents who have damned well learned that they can kill at will. And they do."
Tonight there will be a vigil for the young man on both sides of the bridge. Undoubtedly the feds will be there doing their videotape routine.
Jesus B. Ochoa
El Paso, Texas
Of course it is wilful murder.
The attempt to shut the border is instigated by those who wish to kill and the damned thing is manned by those who wish to kill.
My My! What is the USA coming to? It is a matter of profundity. African states have the profound excuse of profound poverty and profound interference, which does not make it right, but what the USA is doing is profoundly worse because there is no excuse.
What the USA is doing is the elevation of psychopathy to the heights of morality.
the USA is doing as any sovereign nation does. Protecting its borders. Protecting its citizens. I don't know why we have been so lax for so long. mexicans do not have more of a right to be here over all other immigrants. mexicans wanting to immigrant to the USA need to go through the proper procedures to come to the USA. I can assure every one of you that are so outraged that if you were just to try and cross over into mexico and take up residence you would find they have laws in place that they enforce, usually with much less warning than we give. we have policies and laws in place and they need to be followed. if they are not followed then they need to be enforced. it is tragic that a 15 year old child was leaving his country to come here to 'the land of plenty' and was killed. America can NOT continue to support all these illegal mexicans. not to mention there are others who are crossing through the mexican/USA border from other countries. OUR borders need to be secure. Do you not understand that at all? I don't want more muslim extremists coming here via mexico/USA border and the border patrol having to stand there and just observe. I want the border patrol to do there job, for a change. I want them to use whatever means necessary. So do a great deal of Americans. Good job Border Patrol !!!
Are you not an American? If not then why are you worrying about what goes on here? If so then are you to ignorant to realize that the government of the United States is our governmant?
I am not glad that a 15 year old was killed.
I am glad that the Border Patrol are finally beginning to enforce and secure the border. I know I would not want that job. But they are improving in their work. It is unfortunate that a 15 year old was killed. It is unfortunate when anyone is killed. But we must all obey laws of the country we live in. If I did not feel that the USA was the best nation to live in and if I was in such disagreement with the laws here I would move to a country that better suited me. (Of course I would go through the proper immigration procedures of that nation.)
What does : Why not applaud your government for torturing its POW held at Guantanomo while you're at it, too?, have to do with this? All I can tell you about my opinion regarding that is I firmly believe that a POW of America even in Guantanomo is treated better than other POW's of other nations.
"There are hundreds of thousands of US citizens living in Mexico"
Are you suggesting that is a fair trade off? We support millions of the illegal mexicans because a few hundred thousand Americans live in mexico? what are you saying? Try and stay on this topic/discussion.
I only know about how the mexican people and government treated Kiki Kimaranna. I only know that I open my local daily paper and every day I read about drug busts/rapes/burglary and other crimes - with the common denominator being an hispanic sounding last name. And then listed as being held for deportation a few days later in the same paper, because it turns out they are here illegally.
I personally don't care who immigrates to the USA, as long as they do it legally. And go by the same laws as I, an American citizen, go by. And have an allegiance to America, and not loyalty to their nation of origin if they want to live here and be a citizen.
And you think I hate? I think you are hate filled!
I think you're deluded.
We are really under a serious attack of callous, filthy, murdering right-wing fascist-thug-troll morons here tonight, aren't we?
I am so saddened to read all the anger against the American government and policies. Is there no patriotism left? I am not pleased with all the laws/policies/etc in America. But overall it is a great place, especially in this day and time. The fact that if someone agrees with protecting our borders will get that person labeled racist/hate monger etc., by the majority of others here shows that there is no loyalty to America. The government of America is OUR GOVERNMENT. If you are an American this is your government. When a day to vote comes up go vote, whether it is for your local council man or for President. We live in a democracy. Vote to change things you don't like. But PLEASE be united with your own country.
As far as rather or not we get all the truth from the Border Patrol about this particular incident, well we probably don't get the entire story. But I do know if someone throws a decent size rock and hits another person in the temple area of the head it can kill that person. People are also blinded by rocks. So why should a Border Patrol Officer just doing his job risk his eyesight or his life because some young kid is throwing rocks? I really doubt that the BPO knew that it was a 15 year old kid. Or that the shot would be fateful. But the BPO was just doing his job. I really hate that a teenager was killed. (I hate everytime I hear of a child being hurt. And unfortunately that is almost every day now.)I think it is a given that there is some amount of corruption/pay-offs/etc in every thing. This is not a 'good' or 'perfect' world.
I also, notice that a lot of people keep trying to bring Israel into this. I do not see a connection between the Nation of Israel and a young mexican teenager getting shot by a Border Patrol Officer in the USA. I only see several people who apparently hate Israel and Jews. Israel has nothing to do with this particular incident. Not even on the same continent.
I am proud to be a Christian American. I hope this country is restored to its former power and position. I realize that our laws will have to be enforced, and a lot of things will have to change for that to happen.
I just hope that all of you, so quick to judge, can just for a moment put yourself in the shoes of the people involved in this.
Louise, if Jesus showed up at your door tonight I'm pretty sure you would have your shotgun out telling that long haired hippie to get off you "private property." You own this old US of A and no Jesus is gonna tell you how to treat other people when this is "your country." Funny, but I don't think "God" created any sovereign nations with borders that restrict people. There will come a day when you will probably have to decide: Christian or American? Like Christian or Roman? Which will you decide?
1. We do not live in a democracy. 2. The punishment for throwing a rock is not death. 3. I do not hate Jews, I hate Zionism, Islamism, and fundamentalist Christianity. 4. You should be proud to be an American citizen, not a Christian American. To the extent that your religion intrudes and mixes into your responsibilites as a citizen, you are neither a good citizen nor a good christian. Christian Americans are doing far more harm than good (e.g., Texas school books).
Eddie, I think you and I have a similar thought process. Well said.
Loyalty my friend is not blind or held without scrutiny. Any law enforcement officer knows that he/she may be subjected to many forms of asssult but,is trained and expected to use restraint in the apprehension of criminals and use deadly force only as last resort. Nobody asserts that anyone should subject themselves to harm in the carrying out of their duties but, law enforcement officers are trained in this regard.
I served my country for 15 years in military service and I defend it's constitution with my very being but, I don not do so without question nor will I be loyal simply because this is my country. Truth is truth and an honest man can not truthfully be loyal to that which is not justified and within the framework of law.
As far as our former power and position are you sure you are not confusing thiswith our hubris? It's good that you are a proud American, it should not be Christian American or Jewish American or any other moniker. That is what is wrong with this country today that we want to separate ourselves or insist that this country be " Christian" when in fact the fore founders of this country, notably Adams and Washington, in response to Thomas Jefferson when he asked their opinion in raising faculty, (if you doubt this review your history) declared when looking to help recommend faculty for the University of Virginia that Christians should be kept from the faculty because this country should have definite separations between church and state and that those Christians of the time in the Americas were a danger to the formation of this government. So, in short, be proud to be American but be Christian in church were religion is best held. Many of the worlds troubles and disgraces are so because of religion being placed in places where it has no business.
And I also know that the agent suffered no injury. So where was the harm in the rock throwing? A Christian American? Why not just an American? There are none so blind as those who refuse to see, and you are among the blindest.
"where was the harm in the rock throwing?"
ask Goliath...
This is especially for Louise, and for all other Christians who so fear the other - Mexicans.
