Torture Used to Try to Link Saddam with 9/11
Why, then, the relentless waterboarding of these two men? It turns out that high Bush officials put heavy pressure on Pentagon interrogators to get Mohammed and Zubaydah to reveal a link between Saddam Hussein and the 9/11 hijackers, in order to justify Bush's illegal and unnecessary invasion of Iraq in 2003, according to a newly released report of the Senate Armed Services Committee. That link was never established.
The Senate Intelligence Committee revealed that Condoleezza Rice approved waterboarding on July 17, 2002 "subject to a determination of legality by the OLC." She got it two weeks later from Bybee and John Yoo. Rice, Dick Cheney, John Ashcroft, Alberto Gonzales and George Tenet reassured the CIA in spring 2003 that the abusive methods were legal.
Team Bush claimed - and still claims - that it had to use harsh techniques to protect us from the terrorists. They really sought to create evidence to rationalize an illegal, unnecessary, and tragic war.

Show AllThe worst thing about all of these recent headlines produced since the release of the torture memos is that none of them is surprising in the least, especially this one.
On the other hand, it is (slightly) reassuring to see that there was some resistance - however futile - to Bush and Cheney's tyranny.

considering it was and remains the biggest terrorist attack on american soil (let's forget about the now admitted government culpability in peral harbor) let's at least honor the dead with an investigation

HI. Thanks for the comment about the "Banality" article, I went over to it and "demolished" some of the BS hanging from hot air balloons.
There is no doubt at all, there are dozens of CD posers that just fill up the space with quasi-emptiness, that appears to look like writing, when it doesn't suck so bad that it draws one down into the criminal muck.
I studied the German FInancial report, and although I liked the consistent parts about Mossad complicity and participation, I found that the stuff about Prez $hrubi$h assassination attempts didn't jibe with the data that I've seen.
As to there being a German element of central banker's criminal complicity, pre 9/11 flimflamming investment with pre-knowledge ( trillions, yes ), and long hidden theft of much national gold, YES of course.
I still would go with Goldman Sachs being the major player, along with a network of of wealthy bankster elitist criminals. The people behind GS are the same as brought Obama to US, and propped up geo the $hrubi$h thief in chief.

My sense is that the length and depth of this article, in no manner proves anything ( it's just an illusion of ponderous weight = truth ), other than flag it as a serious attempt for subtle misdirection, which tells lots of parts of the truth to hide the real truth. It would take many months to follow through on so many references ( as if they could all be found, w/o travel to the libraries of Europe ), which a real validation process would require ( like a peer review )
¿ Look at the Global balance of wealth and power, and ask yourself how much did Britain and Germany retain of this over the last century ? Not that much, perhaps ~ 20 % between them. Remember, the Arabs, Japanese, Chinese, Russians and others might all together claim about ~ 30 % of the pie -- leaving the biggest chunk to the USA.
America is the center of the new power players ( look at the money flow, what we've seen ), which sometimes play well with others in the world, when it means making more money. THey are very wary of possible alliances that might increase risks to their profits, so they perhaps act like Yalta did to carve up the world.

One thing is indisputable, simply from the number of comments on this and other sites. The truth of 9/11 is far from settled and we must demand a re-investigation...independently and internationally.

MA G: I'm with you, brother. Back in 2004 when I was in Malaysia I met a lawyer from Berkeley and over dinner at a quaint restaurant deep in the jungle I mentioned my theory that 911 was an inside job. He treated me like a pariah after that. Many can't take in that their own government--one that has blood all over its hands for foreign exploits--could turn on its own. The matter of how returning troops are treated, the filth at Walter Reed hospital, the game-playing in order to avoid treatment of less definable wounds like PTSD and exposure to DU, and the habit of deception--using lies to start wars that kill OTHER people, don't seem to figure into their mental calculus.
I am not one with experience in the engineering aspects, but my gut and soul tell me that there are far too many "coincidences" here and I don't think the universe bends towards supporting murderers and thieves (the agenda for an Amerian "lock down" to pave the way for a foreign policy that suits the predilections of the PNAC champions) without a LOT of help.
Maybe I'll see you at Burning Man.
I too saw it as at least plausible that 911 was an inside job. Now I just started reading Shock Doctrine. I'm only a couple chapters in, and I've changed my mind about what the US is capable of, especially the neocons. I'm convinced 911 was part of an effort to perform the Chilean experiment on the US, with Bush as our Pinochet. Read the book if you haven't already. Talk about connecting dots!
Kane Jeeves - thanks for mentioning "Shock Doctrine" by Naomi Klein. It is a depressingly accurate portrayal of the miscreants that now govern this country. A less known work, but very compatible withy Klein's, is "The Bush Agenda" by Antonia Juhasz.

KANE: I read the Shock Doctrine, too, and saw parallel after parallel emerge with respect to the economic meltdown that was engineered here. First they got control of the press to dissuade a true public understanding of the many moves that have led to a near checkmate status on the part of those elites who profit from the prison/MIC/Wall st/banking/big pharma complex. Protesting became barely tolerable, FISA used terrorism as the ruse to keep tabs on the population with particular note taken of any moves directed at organizing persons against the policies of our dear government. False war and no accountability. Fiscal melt-down, and reward the engineers of the crisis. A new Prez, but same old game... the individual serving as a distraction so that more crimes could pass under the radar. Now he puts on the glib smile and says there's no point looking back, as if the entire premise of a government answering to its constituents is irrelevant. And one could list many many more symptoms of the disease that = the breakdown of our way of life. Thank you Milton Friedman and your cold-blooded amoral followers who worship their gold on the corpses of entire nations.

You related your attempt at creating an oracle and further down this:

I, too discovered this truth long ago and was going to (unnecessarily it seems) suggest it to you.
As with any oracle, the degree of "revelation" is dependent upon the degree of contemplation.

VDB: CD can seem like the Twilight Zone some times. Is it my imagination, or were some entries erased on the BANAL site? My computer (this morning) said 207 postings, but that was not what I actually saw on my screen.
Contemplation and "being at one with the Tao" is another way of explaining it. And I think to those who open their minds and hearts, messages and "the invisible messengers" deliver! Thanks for knowing this, too!
Okay, you make some valid points. So call a conference of all the 9/11 truthers and hold the following workshops:
-Using grammar and punctuation
-Not insulting people you're trying to convince
-Distinguishing valid arguments from arguments that instantly discredit you
-Sloganeering ("Investigate 9/11" - good; "Wake teh fukk up SHEEPLE!" - bad)
I've heard some pretty decent arguments about 9/11, especially from Cynthia McKinney. So why not present them in a decent way?

Greenferret........The facts are presented decently on innumerable sites. The first one I always recommend is 911dvdproject.com for FREE dvds. There's a good list of resources on that site. You may also go to the 911blogger.com or ae911truth.org for more resources and many others. Please do not dismiss the facts and truth for a few silly remarks or punctuation/grammar errors, which happen on both sides of the story.
The bottom line is WHY is there such reluctance to reopen an investigation, since it has been widely accepted that the 9/11 Commission Report and the NIST reports were partisan and loaded with omissions and inaccuracies.
Surely, at least one detainee, seeking to avoid the pain, made up some cockamamie story about Saddam being the mastermind of September 11th, or some other potboiler plot about Iraq and 9/11. I am surprised that no matter how preposterous the yarn or its source, George Wanker Bush or The Cheesedick never trotted it out for public consumption. Perhaps they could've leaked it to Judith Miller and had it published in the New York Times.
On Conspiracy Theories
There are miles and miles of subtlety and degrees of action and inaction between what would be called an active conspiracy that makes things happen through direct planning, manpower and input, and inactive conspiracy in which all there needs to be is a combination of silence, knowledge and allowing some things to happen and others not to happen... and a plan for what to do when/if "things" do/do not happen.
As human kind and its plethora of governances throughout the ages have fostered and nurtured great familiarity with every eventuality along the entire length of that spectrum of politics that conspire to attain the greatest level of power possible, identifying where on that continuum any acts by any governing body lies may not be as important as containing the urges of those who seek power firmly inside the confines of the law... and assuring that the representatives of the people are dedicated to the law first, and to the seeking of power last.
First things first. America does torture. Just look at today's events of flying a 747 over New York with fighter jets in tow for a photo op without informing New York general public in the city core.
That is not just fear mongering , it is psychologically torture, and people who knew this event was going to happen and did not inform the public need to be sued and fired.
Just do a google search on Gang Stalking, thousands of American are being stalked and psychologically tortured every day by army's of gang stalking freaks across this country. There are xray devices and sound wave devices available to the public that can penetrate through walls to harm people, and they are being used by gang stalking freaks.
The Department of Justice ignores thousands of complaints a year. WHY??????
