Vermont Candidate Backs Prosecution of President Bush For Murder
BURLINGTON - Charlotte Dennett, the Progressive Party candidate for Vermont attorney general, said Thursday that if elected she would prosecute President Bush for murder.
Dennett, an attorney from Cambridge challenging incumbent Democrat William Sorrell, was joined by Vincent Bugliosi, a famed prosecutor who took on Charles Manson in the early 1970s, at a press conference in downtown Burlington.
As Vermont attorney general, Dennett said she would appoint Bugliosi, who published a book this year called "The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder," as a special prosecutor to hold Bush accountable for deaths stemming from the Iraq war.
Dennett said Vermont is the ideal state to bring murder charges against Bush, since the state has carried the country's highest per capita deaths of soldiers in the war. It is also home to nearly 40 communities that moved to impeach the president last year.
"Lots of Vermonters feel very frustrated that the impeachment efforts did not go anywhere," she said. "This is another avenue for us."
Bugliosi, a 74-year-old Los Angeles resident and author of the famed "Helter Skelter" book about his prosecution of Manson, called Dennett a "valiant and patriotic woman" willing to put her reputation on the line to bring to justice what he sees as one of the worst criminal acts in recent history.
He told a small crowd gathered in downtown Burlington on Thursday morning that his book clearly lays out evidence showing that Bush and his administration misled the American people and the U.S. Congress into war in 2003.
"George Bush and his people have gotten away with thousands and thousands of murders," Bugliosi said, citing both American and Iraqi deaths in the five-year-old war. "We, the American people, cannot let him get away with this."
Bugliosi said any state attorney general or local district attorney can bring criminal charges against Bush once he leaves office early next year. He said Vermont could take on the soon-to-be ex-president by bringing conspiracy to murder charges against him, using his own public statements during the build-up to the Iraq war as evidence.
"Bush and his administration deliberately told lies to deceive people and get the support of the country behind the war," he said. "That information went out through the media and was heard by residents of the state of Vermont."
Sorrell said Thursday that promises to prosecute Bush for murder makes "good political sound bites," but said he does not believe he - or any other local or state prosecutor - has that authority.
To bring about a murder or conspiracy to murder charge against Bush, the actual crime - the death of an individual - would need to take place within his jurisdiction, Sorrell said, which in this case is the Green Mountain State.
"And if I remember correctly, Vermont is still the only state George Bush has not visited while president," Sorrell said.
Dennett said she read "The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder" earlier this year and was interested in pursuing Bugliosi's notion that local prosecutors could bring criminal charges against the president.
She was put in touch with him through a friend who has a mutual publicist with Bugliosi. Within a half hour, the two were on the phone discussing the possibility of prosecuting Bush once he leaves office, she explained.
"Right away I felt a real rapport with him," she said.
But Dennett said she is not a single-issue candidate, adding that she is also interested in issues surrounding the Vermont Yankee nuclear power plant in Vernon and its proposal to extend its operating license beyond 2012.
When asked by a reporter if she thinks she has a chance against Sorrell, a well-entrenched incumbent, Dennett said she thinks the Democrat is a "nice man," but that her push to hold Bush accountable for the deaths in Iraq will "strike a chord" with Vermonters.
"I think I will have a groundswell of support," she said.
The general election is Tuesday, Nov. 4.

Show AllI can't believe this idiocy is even being discussed. Economic crisis, people still getting killed, middle class getting killed, the poor need all sorts of help, universal healthcare just went down the toliet and this absurdity is an important topic of discussion?
The short answer is "yes."
Your brevity is commendable sir! I consider myself well and intelligently answered.
If Bush would have invaded Denmark or Sweden or Finland and murdered over 1 million caucasian, western, mainly blond/blue eyed, Christians and destroyed their infrastucture, there would be no hesitation to impeach him, to drag him through international courts for crimes against humanity, and charge him with murder.
But he murdered not only over 4,000 of his own, but a million mainly Muslim, brown-skinned people with a an "alien" culture. Their lives are not as valuable as the lives of "westerners".
The US has never been more reviled around the world - no country or empire ever has. And failure to prosecute the current administration - whether republicans or democrats are elected, will tell the world that the bush way of doing things is acceptable to americans.
snydly
This would be a good time to cross-reference the lists of short sellers from 9/11, the S&L crisis and this recent meltdown looting.
A 1/3 bounty to forensic financial investigators might get some action.
Bush is "keeping us safe" by making more and more enemies, which is why there will be no end to the "war" on terrorism, which is what he wants; nonstop war profiteering at our expense. Which reminds me; Bush is the biggest terrorist around, a serial killer of epic proportions.
Republicans seem to forget that 9/11 happened under Republican watch. And where's the proof that more terrorist attacks were coming?? I thought the perpetrators died with the deed. Did they immediately reincarnate or what. That's IF the 19 middle-eastern men were indeed behind the attack.
What joke, this is going nowhere.
First, Bush got an authorization from the criminal congress to use force, did you people forget?
We might have a chance to see Bush prosecuted if he leaves the country, but NEVER NEVER EVER in an American court, that is certain, the system here is controlled by Bush and his Democrat conspirators.
Your point about the complicity of the Congress is a good one. I made that point in the article I linked to.
It is now up to the voters. If they elect me - or another AG who is committed to justice - wait and see what will happen. I believe that I am the ideal candidate for the job because I am an outsider - the other candidates for Vermont AG are all Officers of the Court. Think about it.
Bring America Back !!!!
Well, Ms Jackowski===When I do think about it--your suggestion--it means
any Attorney==prosecuting or defending== in the jurisdiction technically
becomes an "Officer of the Court". It means that being admitted to that
Bar, they must subscribe to the applicable 'Rules" and 'Ethics Code' of
the Court. But, any citizen, lawyer or Not, can file an 'Amicus Curie'
with any Court==meaning info from a "Friend of the Court' !!
****So, when you say you are an "outsider", I guess you are saying you
are not an Attorney, practicing law, or not having passed a Bar Exam ???
But, if you are elected A.G., and you don't intend to abide by the
rules and ethics codes, then you will have many problems with Judges !!
**Now, depending on how one feels about Lawyers, your outsider views may,
or may not be considered good by an average Voter !! Without doing an
extensive inquiry==probably not too many Attorneys General of our States
are not lawyers by profession.
**That's not to say your 'Nuremberg in the Green' is not a worthy concept,
where the Bush Regime's behaviour comes to play in history.
**And , on the larger point of the complicity of the Congress in the original
war orders==they gave general powers--should all evidence, facts, security,
specific need, etc etc, warrant war as a Necessity==but the final Order to
War rests only with the Commander in Chief==and since none of the above
conditions really existed==and he lied our Nation into an illegal War==
the blood of Iraq lies squarely in the lap of George W. Bush !!! He
launched a massive attack on a basically defenseless soverign nation, that
had absolutely Nothing to do with the Events of 9/11 !!!
**No need to remind you of our own losses as a humane people and Nation !
Yes, any person can file an Amicus Brief but that is irrelevant. Only an AG or Prosecutor can Indict.
Of course, I would abide by a code of Ethics - that is precisely what makes me an 'outsider'.
thanks Rosemarie, your efforts are appreciated. And thanks for not running as a Democrat, that would've been a joke. You now have my respect.
There has been another Vermont Candidate for Attorney General who went on the record months ago.
Check this out and look at the date.

My campaign slogan is "Vote for an outsider with a conscience."
WHERE THERE IS NO JUSTICE, NOTHING ELSE MATTERS.
Vote for JACKOWSKI for ATTORNEY GENERAL
the longest threads I have seen.. are shark fests.
just an example- threads where I have asked meaningful questions, trying to open dialogue/ discussion remain thin and unanswered...
both sides of the political divide seem to revel in frothing..
the left expels a lot of energy fighting... time/ energy that could should be put to constructive use..
what does that say about what we/ progressives really want..? change? new direction? or vengeance and republican metaphorical blood..
Keep trying, Teri. I like your posts and you do raise intelligent questions. Unfortunately a lot of posters are curmudgeons with too much time on their hands, or smart asses like SnowWolf who thrill on baiting people.
Although I am guilty of it some, myself, I agree. Sometimes I just ask a question (I really wantit answered! I'm not being confrontational), but, all I get is venom.
If anyone thinks that that changes minds, it only makes me feel like--well, fy then!
It's even worse at other websites. I know some think it is great fun, and it can be--but when it just gets down to name-calling and "cleverness contests", I feel liek I'm in kindergarten.
Bring America Back !!!!
Yeah !!! I vote for Charlotte Dennett !! YOu Rock, Charlotte !!
Bugliosi Rocks !!!
Here's my analysis: It has to do with crossing state boundaries
for illegal purposes, and with King George as the Commander in Chief
of the US Armed Forces.
It was George Bush who , knowingly under false pretenses, issued the
illegal order to send Vermont military to Iraq, for an illegal War
putting those Vermonters in grave positions of Mortal Danger. Bush
then is directly responsible for any deaths to Amricans/Vermonters
in that theatre of War !!!
**Under the US Code of Military Justice, the Vermonters had no choice
but to cross their state borders, induced by the Illegal Orders of
their Commander In Chief, for the purpose of Illegal War !!!
Not only does the Vermont Attorney General have the authority, but
the Grave Duty and Responsibility to prosecute Bush ! I believe
Brattleboro, VT, as well as Berkeley, CA have standing orders to
their police to arrest Bush/Cheney should they enter their
jurisdictions. Same with one of the Counties in New Hampshire.
International Courts on War Crimes also have similar jurisdiction !!!
That's why Vermonters need to Eject incumbent Blue Dog Democrat
William Sorrell, too yellow belly of a coward to stand up for his
own dead soldiers, victims of the worst President ever in the USA !
Elect and Support Charlotte Dennett in Her Progressive Campaign !!
Speaking of state' right, did you see the Amendment to the DC Gun Bill that the House passed last week?? It was the GOP and some Blue Dogs, who decided to force Va. and MD to sell guns to people living in DC , so that they could "defend themselves", including semi-automatics bought at gun shows.
It was in response to a DC council that voted to ban all guns in DC *(I have no prob with it). The Supreme Court found it "unconstitutional" (even if it is--it would make good sense--DC is the murder capitaol--I know the arguments), and McCain and Obama agreed. Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (who doesnt evn get a vote)was furious.
So, now, you can leave a mental instituttion, buy an unregistered semi-autopmatic gun, and carry it concealed, in the nation's capitol. I hope the new Rep from Mississsipi get wounded. It sure changed James Brady's mind! (Not that I want anyone to be hurt likes Brady)
Here is a letter I wrote to Henry Paulson
To: Mr. Henry Paulson
Secretary of the United States Treasury
Dear Mr. Paulson,
I am sure you are being deluged by emails, phone calls, and letters. In fact, I doubt you will read this letter, and instead delegate it to one of your aides who will get a good laugh and then throw it in the trash. But I am writing it anyway. In light of the recent debacle that will put taxpayers on the hook for "hundreds of billions of dollars" as you claim, it is unfair to make us pay for this, especially those of us who budget and live within our means. Now, I know your reply will be "this is better than the other alternative." I don't buy it, but that is not why I am writing this letter. I am outraged that nothing was done to prevent this! Some of us saw the freight train coming before the wreckage. Why didn't you? Or, you saw it, but elected to do nothing about it. Essentially, I think taxpayers are entitled to the real truth behind this scam. It is a scam, right? It is a ploy to protect your wealthy friends and screw the middle and lower classes by forcing us to pay for this. Please explain to me why the CEOs of these companies are not jailed right now? How about taking their salaries, performance bonuses, value of their homes, and giving that money to taxpayers? It is a drop in the bucket compared to the $1 trillion we will have to pay, but at least it is something. Sorry, I forgot you don't give a damn about the little guy and only are interested in protecting your rich friends. Why is it that every time there is a crisis, the Bush Administration acts too late, but does nothing to prevent it? I think the average person plainly can see the Administration is complicit in this scam. Please convince me it is not so (this will be very difficult to do). What are you going to do for those of us who play by the rules and do not overspend? My guess is absolutely nothing except raise our taxes. Maybe we ought to file lawsuits against you, the Bush Administration, and Wall Street corporations. If you do not care to respond to this letter, fine. But know that there are millions of taxpayers who are pissed off at you, Bernanke, Wall St., Republicans, Democrats, and the Bush Administration! Your incompetence and greed speak volumes.
With much anger
...
Gracchus, you are spot on and I wonder if there is some way you could get thousands of people to sign it and then have some law enforcement agency hand deliver it to Mr. Paulson; otherwise I doubt if he will ever read it.
PaulRevere,
It would be great to get thousands of people to sign it. I too seriously doubt he will read it (that is why I stated that in the second sentence). Usually these guys just give it to their aides who toss it in the garbage, or it goes no further than the secretary's desk. Hopefully, many other people too have written so it sends a clear message to him that the game is over, people are paying attention, and they are hopping mad. If there is a way we could circulate this letter and get the signatures, that would be awesome!
Dear gracchus:
I wish that you had given me the opportunity to co-sign this letter. It pretty much sums up the entire paradigm og our fascist government that allows multinational corporations to privatize profits and socialize the losses. These criminals have been able to rig the deck where they can rape and plunder the US treasury and sail off in their yachts to some tropical paradise. Only in Amerika, land of opportunists.
Cavedweller,
My apologies. Perhaps, I should have waited. These guys need to know that their game is up and people are not going to take it anymore. Thanks for your support, and next time, I will be sure to give everyone a chance to read the letter and sign it before I send it.
Good letter. cc your Senator and Rep.
Joe
jclientelle,
I did. Thanks for your support.
Very good letter. Permission to ad-lib it to my very conservative sens/rep?? (I know what they wil listen to)
KDelphi,
Sure. Please feel free to ad lib it. Thanks for your support. These guys need to hear our outrage.
gracchus, that's a good point that those of us who saw it coming deserve more. I suggest you and everyone with the foresight channel your energy into your local community. As more and more people join the localism party, we will collectively starve the capitalist beast down small enough to be drowned in a bathtub. Are the O'Bama fans ready to abandon the beast? Vote progressive, vote your principles.
rtdrury,
I agree and will do so.
The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder - Denver DNC
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6PXakPDiRc
As with Nixon, you will no doubt find that whichever puppet is "elected," Cheney/Bush will be pardoned. It will probably be with the same explanations that were used when Nixon was pardoned. "That is all behind us and we must move on." and/or "Impeachment will denigrate the presidency." I imagine Bush will blanket pardon all of his torturers and thieves just before he leaves office. Like Karl Rove, they will all thumb their noses at We the People.
Nixon set the precedent that has been followed too often in Washington DC. Any two-bit crook and grifter can get into office, rob the country, ignore the Constitution, and walk away scott-free with his ill-gotten gains.
The incoming gang doesn't want to rock the boat because they want to inherit this entire illegal and immoral mess to use for their own ends, which are no different because the same oligarchy owns them both.
America, resquiat en pace.
Unless we impeach and try this President and Vice-President for treason, future presidents will take advantage of this precedent to do whatever they please.
The Green Party of the United States has called for impeachment since July 2003. Back then, the Democrats claimed they lacked the votes. Then, after the mid-term election, they had plenty more votes, but were too timid to bring up impeachment. They were afraid of what the Republicans might say and do to them. Impeachment was "off the table." They valued their own re-election over the survival of constitutional democracy. The Democratic Party deserves to die. Let's replace it with something better.
Hindsight is pretty good, but foresight is better. Had we reined in these people in 2003, there would have been no lengthy Iraq occupation, and we might have gotten a headstart on energy and the financial crisis. Instead, we have a perfect storm, together with horrendous national debt. It's a high price to pay for the Democrats' vaunted "bipartisanship."
I say impeach NOW. If it takes until Jan. 19, so be it. America is too important an experiment to fail.

Yes, CD'ers, and if you share the values, ideas, and actions of the Greens, why not register Green? What's holding you back? Why the foot-dragging..er...uh...but...?
You'll feel really good.
I am very happy that someone is finally taking this step!! Great! And I sincerely hope that they will succeed.
BUT OTOH this spring, the IAEA's (google it, if you need to) Ex-Director-General Hans Blix was interviewed on NPR's Diane Rehm Show.
When asked by a caller at the end whether the US refusal at the time when Blix was in charge to let the IAEA finish their inspection job in Iraq and whether the subsequent attack on Iraq shouldn't be prosecuted in America as a crime since the Bush administration had dragged Americans into a war on false premises, Hans Blix dryly remarked that while the war was going on and it was already clear that there had been no WMD, the American electorate STILL voted for the Bush administration once again.
(I think that it was a flawed election, but the difference between the two candidates was definitely not huge enough in order to make any tampering impossible).
Which will make it a little hard to claim that this had occured against the will of the majority of Americans. By then they knew pretty well that this was an illegal unjustified war, they knew that it had no international backing, they knew that it was a pure act of aggression - but they still voted for him a second time, or at least enough of them did to be able to fix the election in Bush's favour.
And this will be his line of defense, I fear.
Araquin,
Blix is equivocating for diplomacy's sake. The first election in 2000 was an illegal intrusion of state's rights. The votes not counted became a violation of civil rights of those people whose votes were not counted. That is prima facie two seperate illegal actions. Therefore, the '00 election was invalid making the '04 election invalid a priori.
Of course, you can howl at the moon, too.
The intellectual laziness of the american people, the propaganda that is the MSM, and the abomination that we call public education combine and result in the complete and total miseducation of the voting populace.
Did the people who voted for Bush in 2004 really know, I mean, really understand, how criminal and illegal the Iraq war was/is?
Could someone vote for someone who they know to be a liar and an international war criminal?
Are people this amoral and ideological? or just stooopid and confused? or BOTH!!!!
.
FIRST..............IMPEACH both Bush and Cheney...........IMMEDIATELY !!!!
,
Give bush a fair trial then hang the motherfucker
Lifelong imprisonment without any perks would be much worse than a quick death for Bush & Cheney. The inmates would have a lot of fun with them, I am sure.
One should treat him the way prisoners are treated in Texas.
That's worse than the death penalty you suggest (I am BTW surprised to find anyone here who'd demand "hanging" - you're on the wrong website! Were you looking for the KKK homepage??), which BTW is still the symbol of an archaic society which flaunts Article 5 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights - so I trust that Vermont doesn't have it.
Take al their money, and put them on suicide watch in general population.
I strongly commend the job snow wolf is doing. There has to be a sense of humor. Without snow wolf there is too much agreement. A foil is fun. Don't take him seriously, appreciate what he is doing. He is showing you the other side of the coin. It will help you sharpen your arguments. Unfortunately, he is not yet good enough at it. Maybe someone else could do it for him. Until then, he's all we got.................lizard
YES! He deserves it; we owe it to ourselves and to the rest of the world to see that it happens. Anything less is shameful to the US, and shows up its citizens as ill-informed, illiterate, lazy-minded fools.
You're going to have to "extradite" him from his recently purchased 90.000 acre spread in Paraguay.
HOW MUCH $$$$ DID DADDY-BUSH AND DICK CHENEY HAVE TO PAY TO "BUY" A FOREIGN COUNTRY???????????????????????????????
WHAT A JOKE THIS WHOLE GOVERNMENT IS . . . . .
DANCE ON AMERICA, . . . THE PIPER CAN WAIT.
"He (Bugliosi) told a small crowd gathered in downtown Burlington on Thursday morning that his book clearly lays out evidence showing that Bush and his administration misled the American people and the U.S. Congress into war in 2003."
The Democrats who voted to authorize the invasion of Iraq knew damn well that the US had no right, moral or international, to invade Iraq.
If Congress was "misled" in 2003, what are they now? -- now that Congress, Republicans and Democrats, continue to fund the prosecution of the War -- a War that has already cost the American taxpayers over $500 billion.
Go to http://www.nationalpriorities.org/costofwar_home -- I'd be curious to know if you can estimate from the "speeding toteboard" at this site what US taxpayers are spending PER SECOND on a war that's already responsible for the death of over 1,000,000 people.
It has cost my city $225.5 million, which could have provided 79,941 people with a year of health care.
You've got to start somewhere.
Joe
To some morons comment that didnt know of any crimes The Bush Crime Family had committed;
There is a now famous article from the Boston Globe which was fact checked thoroughly, named "750 laws that Bush has broken" and it goes on to list the constitutional laws that he and his admin have openly broken and willingly admitted and bragged about breaking.
The moment Kofi Annan declared the war on Iraq illegal, Bush became a war criminal. Any country can try him for it at any time, obviously none have chosen to do so, although at one point Donald Rumsfeld couldnt enter Germany because they we considering trying him in abstentia for war crimes...
If you read Dennis Kucinich's articles of impeachment you'll find reason there.
There is still a validated deposition in Florida by Clint Curtis that was never pursued regarding his hiring to hack the elections, and his validation of Bev Harris' work proving the 2000 and 2004 elections were completely fraudulent....
are you kidding me do i need to go on, this could become the lifes work of any individual to thoroughly investigate and nail down every reason that the Bush Crime Family should not only be impeached, but tried and HUNG!!!! I would love that for some reality TV!!!!! That would truly be the most highly rated show in history that would never be beaten.....
You gotta love Vinnie Bugliosi!
I remember back when OJ was on trial (the first time), and Geraldo Rivera had nightly discussions of the case on his "show." ... One time Bugliosi was on and Geraldo said something like: "Well, we only have a minute left." -- and Bugliosi said, and I'm paraphrasing: I don't sum up complicated things in a minute, Geraldo. If you want me to seriously discuss something, I'd be glad to, but not in a minute or a few seconds.
Bravo, commendatori!
(Perhaps Bugliosi, besides prosecuting Bush, can find time to prosecute the people responsible for a.) dumbing-down America; and b.) shortening our collective attention spans.)
I heard Bugliosi interviewed on Air America, but I didn't hear him mention any thing about prosecuting *all* the parties criminally complicit in the Iraq War. Meaning, of course, not just the Republican Party but the Democratic Party as well.
To date, the Democratic Party, including of course Barack Obama, has approved every war appropriation the Republicans have put forward, totaling over $500 billion.
Also, it's common knowledge which Democrats voted to authorize the War (Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, et al). They, too, would be convicted in any international criminal court of law.
It is therefore doubtful that the US Congress will be of any help in prosecuting Bush and the Republican's criminally-complicit associates, the Democratic Party.
... Criminals don't usually have much enthusiasm for prosecuting other criminals ... re. Nancy Pelosi's comment immediately after the Democratic Party took control of *both* houses of Congress: "Impeachment is off the table."
(Gee, I wonder why.)
You will recall that right before Bush invaded Iraq, he withdrew the United States from the International Criminal Court, knowing full well that there would be -- and, in fact, now is -- a prima facie case against those responsible for the mass-murder known as the Iraq War -- that is to say, *both* wings of the Democratic/Republican duopoly.
Those who authorized the Iraq War are, to date, responsible for the death of over 1,000,000 Iraqis; many of them children, the sick and the infirm. See the following, http://www.commondreams.org/archive/2008/01/31/6768/
You may also recall that about a year and a half ago, there was a German court that was about to indict Donald Rumsfeld for war crimes. This was "cleared up" after the US sent emissaries to Germany to clarify justice's relationship to lucre. (Note: Did you hear a peep about this from Obama and the Democrats?)
Also, Henry Kissinger is scared to death to leave the US, in that a while ago while walking though the lobby of the Grand Hotel in Paris, he was almost served with a subpoena re. the Pinochet trial.
We'll set aside for the moment Kissinger's Vietnam war crimes -- specifically, his and Nixon's 1972 "Christmas Bombing" of North Vietnam. ... That was the carpet bombing of North Vietnam that was also known as the "Madman Bombing" -- Nixon and Kissinger trying to convince the North Vietnamese that Nixon had, quite literally, gone mad, and therefore they'd better give up concessions at the Paris Peace Talks.
Kissinger's order that initiated the Christmas Bombings was quite simple: "Bomb everything that moves."
Note: As we all know, the Vietnam War -- which, according to the Encyclopedia Britannica killed approximately 2.25 Vietnamese, at least 900,000 of whom were civilians -- was as much a Democratic war as it was a Republican war.
So, good luck, paisan Vincenzo. But, in your zeal, don't forget the criminals who've made the likes of George Bush possible -- the Democratic Party.
First of all, He should be tried by Iraqi people or the International Court of Justice, in that order.
Second, if Vermont does not have capital punishment, the deal is off.
I am so in love with Vermont. Don't ever change people of Vermont, you guys are beautiful. Hopefully I'll move there someday!
Well this is a bold, dramatic, stupendous lame-brained stunt! Were I a Vermont voter, I would be far more interested in using the funds and personnel of the state attorney general's office for the prosecution of crimes that actually took place within the borders of the state.
That anyone would make such an inane suggestion shows them not to be a serious candidate for the office they seek.
Poet
Poet, I think Vermonters are living in surplus. So they have extra energy to put into law and order, justice, dignity, equity, enlightenment, solidarity, compassion, cooperation, progress, efficiency, frugality, simplicity, evolution, diversity, culture, beauty, peace. The whole idea of progressivism is extra energy for self-determination. Contrast that with consumption slavery, mindless subjugation.
define surplus...
I disagree totally, Poet. After reading Vincent Bugliosi's book I believe the crime has taken place in Vermont and every state. Vermont kids, mostly poor, were killed by a deliberate plot by selfish uncaring sociopaths. Why bother to prosecute some pathetic meth addicted Vermonter and leave the preppy killer on the loose as an example of how privilege makes you immune to prosecution?
Joe
Vermont kids (and those of every other state) volunteered for military duty and (like most kids that age who think they are immortal) had no clear idea of the implications of such voluntary service as they offered--that they had effecitvely put their lives on the line at the say-so of those who outranked them, even if those who outranked them were lying, coniving, back-stabbing crumbs of humanity. Like everywhere else in this country one gets about as much "justice" as one can pay for.
All terribly and and totally wrong but legal nonetheless.
Poet
not saying i agree with signing up for military service.. but legality-wise...
this applies to the national guard.. including the vt national guard..
how..? as I recall, the national guard is for domestic relief.. such as oh say... hurricanes that wipe out entire cities...( that then need blackwater to perform civic services at exorbitant rates)....
is it legal for those kids who had no idea, ever ever never.. that they would be coerce/ conscripted (?) into a war overseas....?
I like the sentiment. I hope she gets elected and pulls it off. Maybe they'll be able to spin a reality show off of it to explain the concepts to the morons in this country who can't understand that we've had a war criminal in the White House for the last eight years.
Please do not feed the Wolf. It is too tedious. Thank you. I would be so appreciative.
Joe
Right on. This Wolf needs helicopter work.
Oh C'Mon...this SO fun
I agree, I can't stop laughing. please keep it up. Those who don't like comedy should skip his posts, but please don't chase him away.....I know, he doesn't want to go away and wont until people stop arguing with him. So please argue with him..................lizard

Johnny J-Rock
Go Bugliosi! From Manson to Bush: At least Manson carved a swastika into his own forehead. His sickness was publicly acknowledged. For Bush, one actually has to read about mass murder and his property in Paraguay to understand the sinister nature of the Bush crime family.
Seriously...I haven't seen Bush commit one crime...I only hear a bunch of Sophomoric banter about how he's worse than Hitler, taking away their Civil rights (which if he were they wouldn't be here bitching about it)...and somehow blackmailing Nancy Pelosi to stay in Power...Silly Nonsense
I have told you all on several occasions why Saddam won the Willy Wonka Golden Death Ticket but you're too full of your hateful Ideology to listen
as soon as he does something Impeachable I'm sure the Dems would be happy to jump all over him
SnowWolf:
“Seriously...I haven't seen Bush commit one crime...”
You haven’t seen Hitler commit one crime either.
Seriously? hahaha......good one snow wolf!
You haven't seen him commit a crime? Me neither, just heard about it..........Didn't actually see it, though.......your brilliance blinds me hahahah...........lizard
Keep writing SnowWolf--as a contract employee, you only get paid by the word!
I can only offer as truth of my position the fact that nobody (credible) is talking about Impeaching him
Hahaha.........your definition of truth is hilarious!........lizard
So you're saying that Dennis Kucinich and Robert Wexler aren't credible? That is your opinion, not a fact. Here's a real fact: Congress's failure to hold Bush and Cheney accountable for their treasonous acts is an abdication of their sworn duty to defend the constitution of the USA against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
Typical rightwing talking points.
Ha Ha.
Glad I keep you entertained
Yes, thank you.......... you can do better though. Still too transparent.......lizard
It is better to be a braveheart than it is a coward regardless. I could care less if impeaching Bush resulted in taking down just about all of Congress with it. Most pols in Washington are corrupt inside and out and are owned lock stock and barrel by the military elites. America could benefit from Progressive/Liberal INDEPENDENTS any day.
Well, I wish candidate Dennett the best of luck. Even if the trial was thrown out by some fascist judge, it would be great theater watching President Bozo do the perp walk on Corporate News Network (CNN) in front of about 200 million people. Give 'em hell, Charlotte!!
Bush will pardon everybody in his admin for any and all, the next
"winner" that takes over will pardon Bush "for the good of the country". We need too start pushing for a blanket pardon for all citizens so ALL our records are cleared and cleaned, we all get a do over. Think of the money that would be saved if all but the heinous are let out of jail/s, plus Blackwater would have a lot more recruits.
rove himself would be proud to see how well his "style" is rubbing off on the american people.
the subject/topic of prosecuting bush for crimes perceived, has been turned into a fools pissing contest ,complete with the "who can create the most derogatory and belittling retort" and the time honored "who's most patriotic" contests well underway.
for style, in his (?) rendition (pun intended), of rovian tactics, SnowWolf receives low scores in style and finesse, but very good scores in persistence and blinkered'ness.
can a rational and truthful discussion of the facts take place in this forum, having already corpulent trolls, receiving a steady diet of snide , rude, ignorant and belittling responses, becomming yet larger and taking up more "space/time", leaving the truth squeezed into a corner.
one would hope that troll feeding, though difficult to resist, would fade from these forums.
Strongly agree. One or two trolls are all it takes to derail on-topic discussion.
Come on dreamers, pull it together.
Totally predictible that RNC intern SnowWolf would appear to defend the boss's crimes.
SnowWolf is a troll, so why keep giving him attention? That's what trolls want. Just ignore him, and maybe he'll go post on TownHall.com where he belongs.
hmmm...I hope Intern doesn't come with the duties of that other intern
see? a comedian...................lizard
Although it would be nice to see GWB get what should be coming to him, as some here have pointed out, there is about a snowball's chance in hell of it actually happening. He simply is too powerful, connected, and untouchable. Would I like to see him prosecuted for murder, treason, manipulation of intelligence (talk about on oxymoron) to create a false premise for war, you betcha. Sorry, no bets coming from me (I already got f*cked by people who gambled with my money on Wall Street, even though I did not give them permission to do it, in addition to the fact that some people in this country are completely incapable of living within a budget, for which I and many other taxpayers will be paying dearly for their mistakes).
the greatest trick the devil ever played.. was convincing people he didn't exist..
( I forget the exact quote)
Is the lack of probability, for accountability, based on connections...?
or on convincing enough people, or confusing(?) of the correctness, the necessity, of his actions...
that the wrong, didn't exist...
?
(d)EVIL...GO(o)D
Who invented written language anyway, some mythical entity, or some likely old MEN who began writing about some mythical entities?
Are the connections theocratic or financial? Oops, I forgot, both lead down the same path to corruption.
As for the aspect of probibility, the laws of gravity assure a pendulum swings back, and on an infinite scale relative to the existence of humans, regardless of how long the rain lasts, the sun eventually shines, reasonable proof there is balance in the universe, hence a reliable indicator the laws Karma are applicable also.
The right or wrong is not the issue, time is. Since a nudge in either direction increases the arc, and how long it takes to reach a steady balance, to reach perfect equilibrium we should push back at both extremes.
Don't worry, folks, Bush will get his due (as did Hitler & other malicious tyrants), and the pendulum is already swinging back. The question to be resolved is will it happen in our lifetimes, our children's, grandchildrens? Keep in mind this sick insidious prevasive plan was formulated long before he was born, or his corrupt precursors going back a number of generations.
All we can really do is stall the pendulum and push it toward the middle, then a duty to hold it there for the sake of future generations.
'Go' Bugliosi! And 'go to hell' Pelosi! The American majority backs your ideas, but not hers.
TeriD,
Could you please write clearer?
george bush's greatest trick- convincing the country he didn't do wrong...by convincing them of the rightness as a substitution.. the best defense is a good offense and bush and co have done such a good job on the offense, convincing everyone they are right.. that he's never been put onto the defensive, not seriously..
just because there is no proof on the table of wrong-doing.. isn't to say it doesn't exist..
you can't find what no one is looking for and most people don't want to bother about.
is that better?
Whether Charlotte Dennett is successful or not: at least we know she has a conscience. You go girl! Vote third party.
GW probably won't be convicted of war crimes, even if he is tried. Just because it doesn't happen, doesn't mean that it shouldn't. Any country with so many fascist sympathizers such as snow wolf probably won't do the right thing. If this was post WWII and Bush's name was Hitler and we still had the Nuremburg Court, certainly Bush and many others would be convicted of war crimes based on the existing evidence.
It makes me feel hopeful that there are courageous and truly patriotic people like Charlotte Dunnett who will stand up to do what is right and just.
Long live Justice and Democracy!
