I see it all the time, where a couple of Jewish people on committee will ALWAYS stick together on issues; they always nominate each other; they always vote for each other to hold any position of power. A member of a group is very much affected by the group's status, either positive or negative. Problems arise when members draw the group into conflict with other groups for "zero sum" gains. The conflicts may be explicit or subtle. The "gains" could be less or more ambiguous, e.g. political influence. Thus groups are easily abused. This means group membership should be held at arms' length, or the significance of groups be dampened so they will be targeted less for abuse. This idea that groups should elicit red flags in the minds of Merkans is quite a foreign concept to them. Merkans are indoctrinated to allow groups to proliferate, except when they are of the wrong skin color, wrong culture, wrong ideology, ehh? So we see the idea of the group in Merka is a carefully cultivated idea. We on the far left have found most conventional ideas in Merka are defunct and we are busy replacing them. We're replacing current views of groups with this: Basically, groups should be held at arms length, not be allowed to dampen universal solidarity, and not be allowed as tools for abuse by elite members. These are strong conditions. Many Merkans are not ready for enlightenment today but tomorrow is a new day.

Looking at history I would say that the Jews worst enemy has been the Zionists, a type of protection racket mafia wolf in sheep's cloths that has been built up on racial myth, divide and concur creating a "them" and "us" mentality on ignorance which is that void of knowledge which allows bigotry to take its place.

In the early 1930s most German Jews were Germans first and and for the most part happily integrated in German society. The right wing Nazis used similar arguments and innuendo to that which we read from ezeflyer, petrkrop, and Progressive101 above. In Germany before Hitler's government less than 3 % of the Jewish community of proximately 5000,000 were affiliated in any way to the Zionist movement and the Zionists were considered by many as gangster extremists.

Anti-Semitism has been and continues to be a central and necessary factor to furthering Zionism. Zionism from its outset has depended on, used, and in some cases actively incited and stimulated, what is referred to by its deliberately confusing misnomer, Anti-Semitism, but meaning Anti-Jewish.

Theodor (Binyamin Ze’ev) Herzl (1860-1904) the founder of Zionist movement was in fact an outright elitist racist intimating great shame of his own ethnicity in relation to sections of the Jewish community. He wrote in his diaries, anti-Semitism, "is an understandable reaction to Jewish defects," and that, "each country can only absorb a limited number of Jews, if she doesn't want disorders in her stomach. Germany has already too many Jews." He believed Jews were to blame for anti-Semitism, and wrote: "Every nation in whose midst Jews live is, either covertly or openly, anti-Semitic; its immediate cause is our excessive production of mediocre intellects, who cannot find an outlet downwards or upwards. When we sink, we become a revolutionary proletariat. When we rise, there also rises our terrible power of the purse."

Although Nazis produced an Aryan myth of superiority and laws to support a racist view of German nationalism in 1935 accordingly, the Zionists in fact applauded the “racial” divide which they saw as reinforcing their own identity myth. Instead of being upset by these laws, the head of the German Jewish Community and Head of Germany's Zionist Movement, Mr Georg Kareski gave an interview to the SS magazine 'ANGRIFF' printed on the 23 December 1935 in which he said he had been trying for years to find a method to keep the two races (Germans & Jews) separate, and he considered the race laws from the 15th Sept 1935 supported the Jewish desires. He implied that the Jews had been struggling against assimilation for nearly 2000 years and they needed such laws to support them in their struggle.

The Transfer (Haavara) Agreement (which promoted the emigration of German Jews to Palestine) implemented in 1933 and abandoned at the beginning of WWII is an important example of the cooperation between Hitler’s Germany and international Zionism. Through this agreement, Hitler’s Third Reich did more than any other government during the 1930’s to support Jewish development in Palestine and further the Zionist goals. It boosted the Nazi economy at a time when Jews worldwide were encouraged by other Zionist organizations to boycott German goods. Goods worth a total of 139.5 million Reich mark were transferred by 1939. The Agreement also made it possible to settle a large number of "select" German Jews in Palestine. Zionists managed this exit and insured that other ways were made more difficult or even closed.

While gaining cooperation with Hitler on the one side in founding of a Eretz Israel in Palestine, some 60% of all capital invested in the settler economy in Palestine between 1933 and 1939 came from Nazi Germany, by June 1937, the largest exporter to Palestine was Germany and that was despite, simultaneously, “The worldwide boycott against Germany in 1933 and the later all-out declaration of war against Germany initiated by the Zionist leaders and the World Jewish Congress (apparently) enraged Hitler so that he threatened to destroy the Jews…” (Rabbi Schwartz, New York Times, Sept. 30, 1997) And so persecution by the Nazis was assured and the uprooting was started. The selection process was, one might say also a “collaborative venture”. Chaim Weizmann, the Zionist leader who had arranged the Balfour Declaration and was to become the first president of Israel, made this Zionist policy very explicit: "The hopes of Europe's six million Jews are centred on emigration. I was asked: 'Can you bring six million Jews to Palestine?' I replied, 'No.' ... From the depths of the tragedy I want to save ... young people [for Palestine]. The old ones will pass. They will bear their fate or they will not. They are dust, economic and moral dust in a cruel world. ... Only the branch of the young shall survive. They have to accept it."[Chaim Weizmann reporting to the Zionist Congress in 1937 on his testimony before the Peel Commission in London, July 1937. Cited in Yahya, p. 55.]

For many, myself include, it isn't about anti-Semitism or blaming of Israel. I don't have enough knowledge of history to judge, let alone condemn any particular group of 'others' for the woes that we here in the US are suffering.

No matter which country or government may ultimately invade, bomb, murder, and otherwise devastate a population they've deemed 'enemy', the fact remains that the United States government and its corporate masters are always going to be the prominent elements in the root of global disharmony and bloodshed.

If gas ever costs $10 a gallon or is unavailable, there will surely be people pointing fingers every which way to lay blame...and a lot of those fingers may point at Israel and Jewish people (those that aren't pointing at the Muslims)...and it's likely that many Americans will never see their own country's role in the madness.

However, I and many like me will fully understand that we don't have to look far from home to find the problem. Understand, too, that my idealism doesn't prevent me from agreeing with you that there will be a lot of folks hating each other in the coming months and years because they will be suffering and will desperately seek someone to blame, but I trust that eventually most of the US population will recognize their own government as the terrorist organization it is and as the source of much of the world's woes.

One of my fondest hopes over the last decade or so has been that someday a large majority of people will finally be able to look in the mirror and see every other face...and realize how much more alike we are than those who have coerced and bought their way into high places to rule and make laws will ever want us to see.

Sort of like how American Christians so silently (except for when they are cheering) and arrogantly wave flags while the US government orchestrates global death and destruction.

I agree that the more people Jews, Christians, Arabs or atheists, that make their opinions known and felt condemning the ethnic cleansing, the racism, the land theft, the torture, the humiliation, the international terrorism, and as you say the myriad of other crimes of the Zionist entity, which passes for a government of Israel the better.

Condemning a "state" is quite ridiculous, one cannot condemn Israel, any more than one can condemn America, Britain, France, Iran, Iraq, or Libya. The actions of a government when criminal on the other hand, and in particular those that assume the power of government to act criminally in the name of that country, and use that power to abuse the lives and rights of others whether nationals or foreigners abroad, that can be brought before a court and those persons can be condemned. At least it would be if we lived in a civilized society in which law and justice prevailed. But we don't. The world has been corrupted by power in the hands of elite groups, and as you clearly noticed they maintain their positions by dividing society into groups and playing one group off against the other. They use religion, culture, nationality, dress, education, language, simply anything for you to see society as "us" and "them" and in your case they have succeeded.

Now, whether it is a majority of Jews in Israel or abroad that hold responsible the racist criminality of the Zionist cabal that calls itself the government of the Jewish state Israel or if it is only a hand full of Jews, your condemnation and generalization on Jews as a whole, (their Jewishness being something that they can do nothing about), means that you in effect are putting them all in the same box. I promise you, all Jews will not change for the better, neither will all the Christians, nor all Muslims. What we can try to deal with is one human at a time.

At the moment my concern is for you to see that you are as unrealistic as any Zionist crazy who thinks God gave him the land of Israel or Palestine, or an American who believes that killing Iraqis by the million will liberate them. By the way the silence of Americans on that one and on Afghanistan, and on the false flag 9-11 event, and the patriot act, and Guantanamo, and rendition and torture, and all the other crimes: that silence was defining too. Did the some Americans express their demand for change? Yes. Did the "majority" do something? No. But, we try to get through to them one at the time.

But as long as society it divided and is helped by people like you to keep them in their boxes it is made more difficult.

A Jew is anybody born to Jewish parents or converted to Judaism. They can be atheist, non-practicing, or believe in the Jewish religion. All of these people are Jews.

A Zionist is someone who promotes Jewish Nationalism, addressing the global Jewish diaspora as if they owed their primary allegiance to the "home land" of Israel as a Jewish state. They are essentially political (as the Cosa Nostra is a political organization), but invoke, religious and a skewed blend of history and myth to justify a constructed concept of a fundamental right to Palestinian lands for all Jewish people. Zionism is a racist Nationalism applied on a global basis and through a global network. Zionists need Anti-Jewish sentiment to hold together their myth of a Jewish "race" against the world and maintain the illusion of a constant existential threat of extermination. Other religious and political groups and organizations have founded and maintain alliances with the Zionists for political and economic reasons as well as some in support of their own mythical theological beliefs.

In short someone can be Jewish without being Zionist, and one can be a Zionist without being Jewish. Judaism though is a religion and Zionism is the politics of racial Nationalism even though they are no more a race than the Aryans were for the National Socialists (Nazis) in Germany.
