Voters support Congress’ reauthorization of VAWA across party lines.

WASHINGTON

New polling from Data for Progress finds a strong majority of voters support Congress' recent reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, a critical piece of legislation which supports efforts to investigate and prosecute violent crimes against women. In a national survey of likely voters, Data for Progress finds national voters support the bill by a +80-point margin, including Democrats by a +86-point margin, Independents by a +80-point margin, and Republicans by a +72-point margin.

"Voters overwhelmingly support reauthorizing the Violence Against Women Act," says Data for Progress Deputy Press Secretary Devi Ruia. "President Biden signing this important, bipartisan reauthorization into law is a necessary step towards protecting women that will save lives and aid marginalized communities."
