Indivisible Statement on Senate Passage of the GOP Tax Scam

WASHINGTON -

Today, Ezra Levin, Co-Executive Director of the Indivisible Project, issued the following statement on the passage of the “Tax Cuts and Jobs Act”:

Tonight, Republicans all-but passed the GOP Tax Scam. And in doing so, they demonstrated that they care not for their constituents, or for democratic institutions, or even for objective reality. They care only about power and the short-term enrichment of themselves and their wealthy donors.

Republicans admit they don’t know what’s in this bill. They admit they don’t know how it came together. They admit they don’t know how it will impact the economy. But their donors gave them a job to do, and they did it. This bill is brazen class warfare, a scam perpetrated on the American people by the career con artist in the White House and the GOP Congress that rubber stamps his agenda.

This GOP ‘win’ is a loss for all of us. It will cause pain and suffering for years to come.

It’s fitting though that tonight, while the Republican Congress all-but passed their bill, the Republican Party of Virginia conceded that they’d lost their majority in the House of Delegates.  This is the GOP’s Ghost of Christmas Future. They will be replaced, and their abominable legislation will be repealed.”
