Lawsuit: Blackwater Put Filipino Prostitute On Government Tab
A lawsuit filed by two former employees of Blackwater charges that the controversial security contractor defrauded the U.S. government, including charging it for strippers and prostitutes, the New York Times reports.
Perhaps the most explosive charge in the lawsuit -- filed by a married couple, Brad and Melan Davis, is that the company put a Filipino prostitute in Afghanistan on its payroll under the "Morale Welfare Recreation" category, then billed the government for her salary and plane tickets.
The Davis's allege that Blackwater exercised little oversight of the billions in government contracts it has won over the last decade.
The lawsuit also claims that Melan Davis, who handled accounts for Blackwater's contracts with FEMA and the Department of Homeland Security, approached her supervisors with concerns about the company's book-keeping. But she was told to "back off," and that she "would never win a medal for saving the government money."
Davis was ultimately fired by Blackwater, now known as Xe. She claims the firing was illegal.
Xe did not respond to the Times's request for comment.
The lawsuit was filed under the False Claims Act in December 2008. But the key documents were only made public recently, after the Justice Department declined to join the case.
The charges are only the latest controversy associated with Blackwater/Xe, which last month saw two of its former contractors charged with murder for the shooting deaths of two Afghan men. Still, the company appears to be expanding its presence in Afghanistan.

Hey...please don't liken whores to scum-bags in Washington who are driving the people-train over the cliff.....at least with a whore you get what you pay for....what this is is extortion at the end of a gun (if you demanded to your rep/obama to stop stealing your tax dollars for war or Blackwater..in a threatening tone) the police/FBI...any one of our many military-style personnel would drag your butt to jail. I know sex workers and there are good ones and not so good ones....maybe like politicians...(kucinich, sanders...etc). : )

That's what I was thinking. Blackwater was probably just trying to keep its thugs from raping the locals, especially underage locals, which could make it a trifle more difficult to "win hearts and minds."
Blackwater is the equivalent to an American Mafia. Eric Holder has let all the Bush thugs off the hook so far...like John Wu, so this is par for the Obama Administration's course!

The weather has got us half-way there. Combined with a decade or two of the modern conservative movement policies to shrink government "down to the size where we can drown it in the bathtub" has succeeded in abyssmal pulic services, including snow removal. DC is effectively shut down.
DC is one place...but the ports are not there.....NY, WA, CA, FL and other places are where we can have a huge impact... there is a facebook page for a GENERAL STRIKE information for Oct 29, 2010. I think a website is forthcoming...but we need a nationwide effort to shake the powers-that-be to let them know they cannot use us as tools for 10 percent richest to lower our quality of life while they wage conquests around the globe. Anyone else with me?

Come on, folks, let's take off the blinders. The coup de etat we've had has been a long time in the making, and really has only fully blossomed since the stolen election of 2000. And the enforcement arm of the coup? The government operatives, including but not limited to the CIA. Of course, even stupid Fox News viewers recognize the connection between Blackwater and the CIA.
A few years ago, a former CIA liveaboard guy came from his boat in the slip that adjoined ours, and told us many astonishing tales, including stories of how the CIAers would get kids for special vip's who wanted sex with kids. Nothing, I say NOTHING (particularly vote fraud) suprises me regarding what can be and has been done for years by the Greed & Power Addicts (G&Pers) and their enforcers. And who are the G&Pers? The military/industrial/corporate-congressional and 'terrorism'. complex. Remember Ike's warning to us as he left office, and Gen. Colin Powell's recent update that threw 'terrorism' into the mix?
Lets all of us, including a pres. named Obama, leave La La Land behind, recognize that democracy's in the toilet, and do whatever it takes to.....UNDO THE COUP!
