Sierra Club Endorses Jon Ossoff for Congress
ROSWELL, GA - Today, the Sierra Club announced its endorsement of Jon Ossoff in the special election for Georgia’s 6th congressional district.
“The Sierra Club is proud to endorse Jon Ossoff and we’re confident that he will be a champion in the fight to protect the health and well-being of Georgia families,” said Eddie Ehlert, Sierra Club Georgia Chapter Political Chair. “Ossoff will stand with Georgians first, protecting our clean air and water, guaranteeing that Georgia’s natural beauty isn’t sold for a quick buck, and creating good-paying clean energy jobs.”
Throughout his campaign, Ossoff has made a point of his commitment to environmental stewardship including, climate action and protection of Georgia’s clean air and water.
"The Sierra Club has been fighting for America's natural beauty, clean air, and clean water for more than a century, and I'm honored to have their support," said Ossoff. "As a member of Congress, I will be informed by scientists, not lobbyists, when it comes to environmental policy, and I will work to make Georgia a clean-energy economic powerhouse."
The Sierra Club will mobilize its members nationwide to support endorsed candidates.
