WASHINGTON

Peace Action, the nation's largest grassroots peace organization, has endorsed four progressive champions for the House of Representatives in the 2020 election, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for New York's 14th district, Rep. Ilhan Omar for Minnesota's 5th district, Rep. Ayanna Pressley for Massachusetts' 7th district, and Rep. Rashida Tlaib for Michigan's 13th district.

"Peace Action is proud to endorse this incredible group of women for Congress in the 2020 election," said Paul Kawika Martin, Senior Director for Policy and Political Affairs at Peace Action, and Peace Action's PAC Director. "Collectively, these progressive champions have already changed the face of American politics for the better. They have foregrounded a national conversation on Palestinian rights and the U.S.-Israel relationship. They have worked to end endless war and promote government spending that reflects the priorities of the people instead of corporate interests. They have each dedicated themselves to the causes of peace, justice, equality, and environmental sustainability, and they each show up to work every day to continue advancing these causes in the face of real threats to their communities, their careers and their own lives. Our country is safer, stronger and more just when we put women like them in charge."

Peace Action is the United States' largest peace and disarmament organization with over 100,000 members and nearly 100 chapters in 34 states, works to achieve the abolition of nuclear weapons, promote government spending priorities that support human needs and encourage real security through international cooperation and human rights.
