Equality California to Celebrate First-Ever Harvey Milk Day With Statewide Canvasses on Marriage Equality

SACRAMENTO, Calif.

WHAT:
In honor of the first-ever Harvey Milk Day, Equality California and its
coalition partners will host a day of action where canvassers will go
door to door to build support for the right for same-sex couples to
marry.

Last year Governor Schwarzenegger signed into law the Harvey
Milk Day bill, sponsored by Equality California and authored by Senator
Mark Leno. The bill designated May 22 as a day of significance in honor
of Harvey Milk, one of the nation's first openly LGBT elected officials.
