Occupy Protesters 'Mic Check' Obama in New Hampshire
Occupy New Hampshire has confirmed that they were behind the mic check today of during Obama's speech at a Manchester high school.
Watch video of the event below:
This is the full message Occupy protesters read to Obama:
"Mr. President, Over 4,000 peaceful protesters have been arrested. While Banksters continue to destroy the economy. You MUST stop the assault on our 1st amendment rights. Your silence sends a message that police brutality is acceptable."
Shortly after the mic check, @OccupyNH tweeted that Democrats are guilty of aiding the 1%.

Show AllDems, filling that room up, want any dissent to the war criminal liberal to just STFU. Wouldn't want to stop the flow of arms trading, killing/deforming/maiming people, including children, around the world, for their most profitable campaign donor$, now would we Dems? Conscience much, or just all psychopaths filling up that auditorium today?
The article doesn't mention that Obama is in New Hampshire to convince the GOP to support an extension of his "payroll tax holiday" that defunds Social Security by $113 billion in 2011 and even more in subsequent years. For decades the GOP tried and failed to defund Social Security. Now Obama uses the "tax holiday"as a trading chit whereby he agrees to extend the Bush/Obama tax cuts "in exchange" for the GOP agreeing to extend the "tax holiday" that the GOP loves but pretends they are reticent to support.
You have said it all.
Very well said, raydelcamino.
This has been Obama's winning strategy since he took office: win/win for the elite, lose/lose for the rest of us.

Yes, a very good point that often gets ignored.
In other words, the all-around Obama screw is alive and well. Although I heard that this wasn't just an extension but also further cuts to payroll taxes. I heard it in passing on NPR a few days ago.
Precisely. And he crows about having decreased taxes on the middle class while destroying social security. Despicable, duplicitous bastard.
Tax the 1% who control 50% of the wealth.
Why arethey are defunding Social Security while simultainously complaining it is underfunded?
Why? In order to steal the $2.7 trillion surplus and then turn the program over to Wall St. so they can steal the ongoing contributions as well. Obama's debt reduction "compromise" of military spending cuts and "entitlement" cuts is part of that same plan.
The U.S. spends more on the military than all the other countries in the world COMBINED! Military spending shouldn't be cut, it should be ripped a new asshole.
Social Security, on the other hand, is deferred compensation. It's prepaid! God damned right we're "entitled" to it! It's our money!
Obama is a Republican pursuing Reagan-Bush policies and putting a Democratic label on them. Dismantling Social Security and Medicare is one of those policies.
If he gets a second term he'll do it ... with the support of Republicans and a few party-loyalist Democrats, just like he extended the Bush tax cuts.
Yet people like Rachel Maddow, Al Sharpton and Katrina vanden Heuvel are working hard for Obama's re-election. They're telling us that his 2011 populist campaign rhetoric is sincere ... unlike that 2007/2008 campaign rhetoric that turned out to be all lies.
But, ANY politician who participates in the pillaging of Social Security will be voted out of office. By January 2013 we'll be left with a shattered economy, devastated Social Security and Medicare programs, and Wall Street Mitt Romney in the White House imposing even more absurd "free-market solutions" which will explode poverty, hunger and homelessness to third world levels.
Excellent summary of the important facts. The only positive thing we can do now is vote Green. Obama can't win anyway after betraying progressives,anti-war,anti-corporate,Hispanics,the young, the poor,etc.,etc..Not voting will do nothing, but if we can grow the Green Party over the following years, it will be a step in the right direction. Romney will hasten the decline of the country, but like the alcoholics who have to hit bottom before they can climb back out of their hell, it might be better than the slow miserable death that we face with Obomber.
I see Romney and Obama as being the same guy. Both are duplicitous, trickle-down, free-market, Wall St. 1 per-centers who have NOTHING BUT DISDAIN for average working people.
If a majority of voters vote against the INCUMBENT purveyors of Republican policies - meaning the "Democrat" in the White House and the Republicans in the House — we could end up with a President Romney and a Democratic Congress. REAL divided government would put an end to the Republican/Obama agenda because Democrats would oppose it as soon as the Republican label is reapplied.
This could happen, because voting against what they dislike is about the only choice voters have.
Third-party? Yes. If they are able to get candidates' names on ballots and generate some publicity. So far the Greens have been pretty invisible, haven't they?.

Obama Administration Fights to Keep Cluster Bombs: http://readersupportednews.org/news-section2/328-121/8538-obama-administration-fights-to-keep-cluster-bombs
Again Dems, conscience much?
It's about fuckin' time!
Black_Anarch,
Hi brother, it's about f_king time! He'll be reelected nevertheless. god damn amerika!
Why have a revolution when you can cast a meaningless vote? snark
Goddam brainwashed democratic shills trying to shout down any criticism of their nobel peace-prize winning president. That liberal media jazz works wonders.
Brand Obama is at least as successful as Brand Reagan, Brand Dubya, etc.
Indeed, Ray. And about as toxic as brand Marlboro.
Well said. Obama is the Oil Can Harry version of the Marlboro man.
Oh not even close to Reagan. You highly overestimate Mr. Obama. Remember that his supporters now apotheosize Reagan to this day, whilst Mr. Obama's best supporters have to hold their nose to discuss him. He beats GWB though without a doubt.
Don't forget, though, John Shade, that Barack Obama was and is a big admirer of Ronald Reagan. That speaks volumes about Obama, and not positively, either.
People who pointed that out in this and other fora in '08 were shouted down by the Obamabots.
Diana,
Typo.... Brainwashed? Brain-dead should be the correct choice of words. :-)
Well, both are correct. Braindead for sure because they're simply not thinking, but brainwashed because they are propagandized by our 'liberal' media into believing obama is a moral man, intending to do good if only those immoral republicans didn't get in his way. Through a comprehensive campaign orchestrated by the oligarchs (who WANT obama there), these people's minds have been hijacked into believing all sorts of unrealities...at the expense of everyone but the oligarchs.
Things like USA federal elections have vote tally integrity
Good one, glenn.
Actually, we are shackled with capitalism's invisible handcuffs from the day we are born. See Michael Perelman's book.
Well, what do you expect? Obama's a closet Republican himself.
No closet. Open and proud.
Doesn't it, though?
The "Peace Prize" winner that butchered 100,000 Libyans. And who knows how many Iraqis, Afghans, Pakistanis, Yemenis, Somalians, Ugandans, and Hondurans.
I suspect that the Nobel voters were using Diebold voting machines when they cast their ballots. :)
so did he respond directly?
The brain-dead audience who shouted over the Occupiers and cheered Obama is the reason the Democrats have been able to sell us out with no accountability. These smug Democrats are the equivalent of the unthinking "30 percent" rightwing nuts who stuck by Bush no matter how low he sunk morally and politically. Democratic groupies are as reprehensible as any Republican, as dumb as any Teabagger, and as immoral as any Cheney family member. They are Obama's real base, along with their Wall Street allies. There is no solution in the Democratic party.
Amen!
Agreed.
Exactly. Sadly, a lot of these idiots don't have a clue they are voting against their own interests, and basically voting to be bent over the hood of their soon-to-be-repo'd car and raped by the Plutcracy - all the while looking confused and puzzled why it is happening. "Must be those damned Rethugs, somehow!" they will mutter, in between grimaces. The Duopoly is very safely and securly entrenched, thank you very much.
It's "equivalent of the unthinking "30 percent" rightwing nuts who stuck by Bush no matter how low"
So now we have the "left wing nuts!" This is something we need to hammer on when someone tells us that they must support their Democrats, no matter what. "Yes, that's why Bush was able to do the damage he did," his supporters failed to hold him accountable. Before Bush's second term, I confronted a Republican, told of all the illegal acts, the lies, etc. He turned to me as if he was thinking seriously and then he said, "yeah, but I just like the guy."
We must find a way to ditch this system of voting for personalities and instead focus on the specific policies we want. Single payer, for example, would have had a far better chance of success had voters been able to decide for themselves rather than giving the decision to ....... health insurance corporations! duh.
Well said. As I watched the shills shout down the 99%, I couldn't help but wonder "how many of these fools are really millionaires who will gain from the policies of the Dims and Obummer?" These sheeple who hero worship Barry for whatever reason better realize that their goose will be cooked and they'll be out of a job in 2012 while the uber rich will break out the champagne and celebrate! I pity these fools. They know not what's coming and they worship personality and party on their way to the unemployment line while the banksters laugh all the way to the bank.
But what do you really expect from an electorate that is as un- and under-educated as Amereichans? Look at our children - we are one of the lowest-ranking "advanced" countries in terms of education. Hell, 1/2 of our graduating HS seniors can't locate Iraq on a freaking map. 5% can't locate the U.S. They are brainwashed from toddlers that the U.S. is God's Chosen Land (TM), that everyone can get rich, that the rich and famous are who they should look up to (looked at any magazines in the check-out line lately?), that anyone not Amereichan is sub-human, and that capitalism and materialism is the answer to everything. Most kids nowadays HATE reading and think books are archaic relics for old people. I shudder for the future of this fucked nation. Of COURSE they worship Obama - the glitz and the marketing that put him into office is right up there with J-Lo. Our kids are going to make absolutely horrible adults.
In Susan Jacoby's 2008 book,The Age of American Unreason, she cites a 2006 National Geographic-Roper study (page 281) that showed 2/3 of Americans, between the ages of 18 and 24, were unable to find Iraq on a map.
Here's the real stunner (page 282):
"The actual figures of those who successfully identified the Middle Eastern countries were just 23% in the college group, and 6% for high school graduates."
I gotta ask, since those numbers make people look extra dumb, just why does it matter that John Doe can't find Iraq on a map? I understand that students are educated on a broad range of topics for the various reasons it's done, but really, why is the location of some city outside of some province important? China has 3 major economic centers, more if you want to argue, but they basically have 3. Can you name them all? Is that important? You could claim some level of worldwide relevance, but who are you or anyone else to look down on others for not knowing some obscure fact? Can you name all the major cities in Iraq? Do you pronounce it properly? How's your understanding on Islam? All of these are relevant in the same manner of speaking, and yet I can't seem to understand why someone should have to know it and be considered inferior or stupid for not.
Any adult who doesn't know the geography of the planet they live on is IGNORANT and EASILY LED. Not only is this a sign of being poorly educated, it's a sign of being generally incurious as to your surroundings. It's a sign of being intellectually inert.
It's not an accident that the countries in which people know their geogrpahy and history people also have higher standards of living, a social safety net and don't spend half their discretionary budgets upon war.
Ask any right winger about the world and they get it all wrong - NOT A COINCIDENCE. Hell most congress members can't find the places they vote to bomb on a map,
Nicely stated.
I agree with EarthFirst: well-stated.It's a slippery argument, because of course even intellectually conscientious people can't possibly keep an encyclopedic database inside their heads and at their mental fingertips, so to speak. So it's true enough that everybody goes through life being "dumb" to some extent-- formulating opinions and making decisions based on inadequate information and relative ignorance. But the suggestion that the statistical findings (assuming they're meaningful and accurate) somehow distort or inflate the average Amerikan's "dumbness" begs the question. It implies that it's fairer to grade on a really generous curve-- so that, say, Homer Simpson is regarded as acceptably minimally intelligent instead of "really dumb".I love Homer, but he and his real-life analogues are really dumb.
Whoooooo-wheeeeee! Right on, donna!
Although I disagree, at least there was a health care debate, something the republicans would not allow, I do agree we should have been able to vote on single payer or a public option. The lobbyists for the insurance corporations and that weasel leiberman stopped our chances. Obama did not fight for us but the right stood strong and every single republican voted against any kind of health care reform. Lies about canadas health care system on fox and by the republicans sealed the deal for the insurance corporation. You go Donna, I love your spirit. And I agree about the cheeeeeneys.
A health care debate? When was that? There was no debate ... there was only the predatory insurance and pharmaceutical companies telling Borat, behind closed doors, to give them a half trillion dollars in subsidies, and 30 million new compulsory "customers."
Borat's insurance law is going to delay a real health care debate back by at least a generation .....
Oh yeah, and the weasel Lieberman .... was also Borat's mentor in the senate.
..
