Report: U.S. Air Force Receives New 15-Ton Bunker Buster Bombs
U.S. Air Force started receiving the massive bombs in September, Bloomberg news agency reports; the bombs are capable of destroying underground targets, such as Iran's nuclear sites.
The U.S. Air Force has received new 30,000-pound bombs capable of destroying deep underground bunkers, the Bloomberg news agency reported.

The U.S. Air Force reportedly started receiving the bombs in September. The bombs are six times bigger than the U.S. Air Force's current bunker-busters.
According to the Bloomberg report, the Boeing company in August received a $32 million contract for eight of the bombs.
Tensions between the U.S. and Iran rose recently after the release of an IAEA report that found that Iran has been working on developing nuclear weapons since 2003.
The U.S. and Israel have not ruled out conducting military strikes against Iran's nuclear facilities, some of which are located in fortified underground locations.

Show AllThank God. What this country really needs are bigger and better bombs. We should be focused on attacking Iran, increasing our military presence everywhere. Priorities.
Laurel and Hardy are getting ready for another caper.
Notice the assumption of fact of Iranian nuclear facilities in "fortified underground locations" and that we should be targeting them at all - and further - letting drop the implication that these are all weapon facilities. Just love that old MSM.
Other than that I am with jclientelle on the idea that we really need to increase our military everywhere and get more and more go-bang gizmos. At $4-million each ($32-million for eight bombs) that is one big firecracker. Think of the school books you could get or 160,000 Kindle Fires at $200 each with years worth of school books. Then again maybe we could use the bunker busters to demolish closed-down shopping centers. Collateral damage? Who cares? This is a jobs program for bunker-buster handlers.
The lust for weaponry and idolatry of sleek violence is so propagandized in our culture that it becomes logic to destroy to create and protect. There are no volunteers in weapons manufacture only eager well paid participants applauded by the ignorant masses. Volunteers are desperately needed to save sea birds from an oil slick in New Zealand right now, there just isn't the money or enthusiasm to pay for wildlife to survive. But a new bomb or a fast car generates a lot of interest and money for all involved. There is no hope for most wildlife, one in four mammals is threatened with extinction as these obscene weapons spread from our country, indiscriminately poisoning the world.
"I love the smell of napalm in the morning........... smells like..... victory!"
Isn't it nice of Israel to share our weapons with us?

A rational person would only consider using these eight new bunker buster bombs to target the White House, Congress, the Pentagon, the Homeland Security Agency, the CIA and the NIA. It is unfortunate that no rational person is allowed anywhere near the Empire's military decision-making process.
How many people will be vaporized if one of these WMDs detonates on the way from the factory that makes it to the target? Which cities and towns has Boeing put at risk?
The U$A has never seen a weapon system that it didn't like. Think of all the money for this that has gone to the weapons manufacturers. They are laughing at the voters all the way to the bank. Still gonna vote dem/repub? Time to OCCUPY BOEING - and your local arms manufacturing site. Most of the US is within 50 miles of a Pentagon contractor. Too many are unwilling to do this. It is all about jobs...........Killing kids and other civilians should not be a jobs program.
Different viewpoint...Thanks - good question. I used to believe that all killing, no matter what the circumstance, was wrong. Then I saw the Robert Fisk photos of little kids with their heads blown off by USA bombs. Now I believe that children and unarmed civilians have the moral right to be protected by any means necessary.
2013 The second American Revolution ended today, after the US air force sided with the people, and using the newest giant bunker busting bomb rooted the countries treasonous leadership out of the white house's underground command bunker!
It interesting to note that in a Globe and Mail article it was reported that the Government of Canada is now having reservations about the 65 odd f-35 aircraft it decided to buy.
The cost of these was based upon a price of 70 million per copy which in and of itself is substantially below what the costs will be. The problem is due to that budget deal the US deficit commission must come up with 1.2 trillion dollars in cuts if the committee can not make a deal.
This would mean cutting the number of aircraft the US Government buys.
This would mean vastly inflating the per plane costs for other purchases which might prompt Canada to cancel its purchase which would drive up per unit costs.
This would most likely mean that cutting said purchase will turn into a grave national security issue wherein the committee agrees they must cut costs in places other then Military spending.(The less sold the higher the cost of those sold) They will use this argument to justify it.
Meanwhile I read in an issue of Popular Mechanics that the Pentagon is already developing their next generation of Aircraft that will supplant the F35 in order to deal with even more enemies of the future.
It too will be too expensive to justify building unless some several thousands are built and not worth building unless there firm orders for those several thousand aircraft. The Government has to buy them in great numbers otherwise they will not get built and this is called "The Free market". DUH.
Talk about your unfunded liabilities
It is STUPID.
the old bunker buster was BLU-82, 15, 000 lbs, dropped from c-130 transport planes. it exploded above the ground an vaporized an area as big as 3 football fields. the biggest non-nuclear bomb in u.s. arsenal, also called MOAB for mother of all bombs. also called daisy cutter to make u.s. people at home think it was fun. it was not. ear witness testimony tells us the explosion was so powerful it rattled your bones, and terrified Afghans who knew nothing about what was going on.the scary bit was a big part of why it was used. there were no bunkers to bust.the military wanted Afghans to believe they were up against a force too powerful to resist. they did not call it shock and awe yet. well all that and of course killing a lot of people.
The Fabric of the Cosmos, an NPR documentary paid for by among others, David Koch, just ended. And we are paying for these mega bombs. These things make me physically ill.
Looks to me like they are planning on using them against Iran. Watch for all of the fifth fleet to be removed from the Persian Gulf as a precursory move.
Maybe we just want to help the Iranians find new oil deposits? These big bombs might work. They'll dig a big deep hole anyway... May hurt someone though, or start a damn war.
