Deadly 'US Drone Raid' in Pakistan
At
least 10 people have been killed after a suspected US drone fired
missiles into Pakistan's North Waziristan region, Pakistani
intelligence agency officials have said.
The raid on Friday on
Darpa Kheil village was the third such attack this month in Pakistan's
ethnic Pashtun tribal areas by what are believed to be CIA-operated
pilotless aircraft.
Al-Jazeera Image "The attack caused a huge explosion," said a Reuters reporter in Miranshah, about 2km from the scene of the raid.
Drones were seen flying over the area after the blast, he said.
Madrassa attacked
Darpa Kheil village is home to a large madrassa, or religious school, set up by Jalaluddin Haqqani, a former veteran Afghan fighter commander who is also a senior Taliban leader.
US drone aircraft attacked the complex in September last year, killing 23 people, most of them members of Haqqani's family.
Pakistani and US officials believe Baitullah Mehsud, the Pakistani
Taliban chief, was killed in a similar strike in neighbouring South
Waziristan on August 5.
Pakistan, an ally of the US, which is
fighting al-Qaeda and Taliban fighters in the region, officially
objects to US drone attacks on its soil, saying they violate its
sovereignty.

Once again we see the US militaries preventing future terrorism by killing potential future terrorists.
Again I post that this is all due to the impossible goal of Public Law 107-40, which was enacted when our corrupt and moronic Congress supinely surrendered to Bushco's lies, deceits and political blackmail.
Again and again I post, Congress authorized the President to use the military against enemies to be named later - and Bush named al-Qaeda and the Taliban.
Congress MUST revoke that insane law for this sh*t to end.
yeah, our government sends in incredibly devastating explosive drones to "surgically" strike (...yeah...) at what they "think" are possible terrorist positions and regularly kill far more civilians and resident villagers than the so-called target(s); this would be like the local police blowing your neighborhood up because their were reports that a mass murderer--or someone who was in some way associated or related to said mass murderer--in one of the houses nearby...and WHO are the terrorists!?! We've already killed far more innocent people than half a dozen 9/11's and they're never really certain about the targets or the aftermath--but you can be certain that those poor people who lose their families and live in the hell of life between the deadly resources of the US and the fanaticism of regional warmongerers don't see the polished and preconceived media b.s. they feed us with 24-7. All they care about is the fact that their family members, neighbors--not to mention, their homes, peace and sovereignty are savaged on a daily basis
More murder and the creation of terrorists who will exact retribution for these unjust and criminal acts of murder perpetrated by the US government!! What consummate stupidity, or, what manifestation of evil, these cowardly drone attacks!
The objections of Pakistan's government are laughable because Pakistan's jet fighters and surface-to-air missiles can easily shoot down every one of the drones.
A madras is a school. Maybe that is the way that the US can deal with the cost of education. Just eliminate it.

Well said.
Within the last two years, "official" estimates of deaths by drone attacks are approaching 1,000 innocent civilians and 14 militants. In reality, double or triple the total. Just think, if the Nazis of WWII had drones, they wouldn't have had to line Italian villagers up to murder them with machine guns for not turning over Partisans.
