WASHINGTON

Protestors are demanding an end to the UK and other G7 Governments' complicity in Israel's war crimes with the demonstration coming as the G7 summit is convened in Cornwall.

This protest follows demonstrations in support of Palestine last month which drew crowds of hundreds of thousands in London and across the country.

The action is organised by Stop The War Coalition, Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Friends of Al-Aqsa, Palestinian Forum in Britain, Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament and the Muslim Association of Britain.

As part of the "Resist G7 Day of Action for International Justice", protestors are calling on the UK as well as other G7 Governments to end their complicity in Israel's violations of international law and are pointing out that the G7 includes the biggest suppliers of arms and military technology to the Israeli state, which are vital in enforcing Israel's regime of oppression.

The demonstration follows a series of three emergency protests which took place in May in response to Israel's escalation of its assaults against Palestinians across the region. These increased violations of Palestinian rights occurred in the context of more than 70 years of dispossession and ethnic cleansing, and the imposition of a system of rule that Human Rights Watch recently concurred amounts to the crime of apartheid.

The demonstration will start at 13.00pm on Saturday 12th June at 10 Downing Street.

Stop the War was founded in September 2001 in the weeks following 9/11, when George W. Bush announced the "war on terror". Stop the War has since been dedicated to preventing and ending the wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and elsewhere. Stop the War opposes the British establishment's disastrous addiction to war and its squandering of public resources on militarism. We have initiated many campaigns around these issues.
