20,000 to Netflix: Boycott Georgia until the Dangerous Abortion Ban is Vetoed or Repealed
UltraViolet Asks Netflix to Speak Up for Georgia Women
GEORGIA - A new campaign from UltraViolet, a leading national women’s advocacy organization, is calling on Netflix to stop filming in Georgia until the state’s dangerous abortion ban, HB 481, is vetoed or repealed. The petition has been signed by almost 20,000 people in just the last twenty-four hours.
Earlier this month, more than 50 celebrities - including Uzo Aduba, Ben Stiller, Amy Schumer, Don Cheadle, Laverne Cox, and Amber Tamblyn - signed on to a letter pledging not to work in Georgia if the bill is signed into law. Many of these actors and actresses currently work with, or have shows that air on Netflix’s streaming platform.
