PCCC on Kavanaugh: Progressives Unleash Monumental Pressure on Republican Senators

Ads and events call out tonight's attack on women, workers, and health care.

WASHINGTON

Statement from Adam Green, co-founder, Progressive Change Campaign Committee:

"Let's be perfectly clear: With Brett Kavanaugh, Trump is trying to fill the 5th-and-deciding Supreme Court seat with an extremist who will overturn Roe, health care for millions, and worker protections. Republican senators should stand up for the 'family values' they campaign on and protect our country from this attack on women, workers, and health care.

So long as Senate Democrats stay unified, progressives will unleash more home state pressure than ever before in a Supreme Court fight -- to ensure Republicans like Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski don't break their promise to their constituents on issues like choice."

The PCCC is running online ads in Maine and Alaska aimed at Senators Collins and Murkowski -- and is going deep with organizing in those states with partners such as NARAL, Planned Parenthood, MoveOn, Indivisible, the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, and others.

Below are the ads, plus images about Kavanaugh we are asking our nearly 1 million members to share on social media tonight.

Politico reported last week on the PCCC's planned week of action in partnership with other progressive organizations:

"Grass-roots groups on the left are planning a massive mobilization next week against President Donald Trump's Supreme Court nominee -- pressing senators to oppose the pick as soon as it's announced. The organizations behind the push include Indivisible, MoveOn, Demand Justice, NARAL Pro-Choice America, People For the American Way, Center for American Progress Action, Progressive Change Campaign Committee, Protect Our Care and others."

The Progressive Change Campaign Committee (BoldProgressives.org) is a million-member grassroots organization building power at the local, state and federal levels. It engages in electoral work and issue advocacy work -- fighting on democracy issues and for economic populist priorities like expanding Social Security, Medicare For All, a Green New Deal, student debt cancellation, and Wall Street reform. PCCC has been a proud supporter of Elizabeth Warren since her first run for Senate and was the first national political organization to endorse her for president in the 2020 election.
