WASHINGTON

Ahead of the meeting this afternoon between U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Jewish Voice for Peace issues the following statement from Executive Director Rebecca Vilkomerson:

"Trump and Netanyahu represent the worst of U.S. and Israeli policies. Their parallel agendas include attacks on immigrants and Muslims, tolerating the rise of anti-semitism for political gain, and enabling racist violence.

During their meeting Trump and Netanyahu reportedly will discuss their shared goal of escalating hostilities with Iran, and their vision of a "peace process" that will enable Israel to continue its expansion and military control over Palestinian lives and land.

Our JVP New York City chapter will be out on the streets protesting the meeting alongside our partners from American Muslims for Palestine - New Jersey and others at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza tomorrow at 6pm.

We call on everyone to join us in building movements to bring real safety for all people."

JVP Executive Director Rebecca Vilkomerson is available for interviews regarding speeches this week at the United Nations General Assembly by U.S. President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.

Jewish Voice for Peace is a national, grassroots organization inspired by Jewish tradition to work for a just and lasting peace according to principles of human rights, equality, and international law for all the people of Israel and Palestine. JVP has over 200,000 online supporters, over 70 chapters, a youth wing, a Rabbinic Council, an Artist Council, an Academic Advisory Council, and an Advisory Board made up of leading U.S. intellectuals and artists.
