Protesters Greet Gonzales At Harvard Law School Reunion

0429 02CAMBRIDGE, Massachusetts - A group of student protesters, including one wearing a black hood and an orange jumpsuit, heckled Attorney General Alberto Gonzales as he posed with old classmates during their 25-year Harvard Law School reunion.”When the photographer was getting everybody set up and having people say ‘cheese,’ the protesters yelled: ’say torture, instead,’ ‘resign’ and ‘I don’t recall,”‘ said Nate Ela, a protester and third-year student.

Law school spokesman Mike Armini said the impromptu protest Saturday was so small that some of those attending the photo shoot did not notice it.

Ela said the protesters followed Gonzales into the law school’s library, chanting “shame” and “resign,” before the attorney general’s security detail took him to his motorcade.

Gonzales was at the university to deliver a lunchtime speech, a visit that was unannounced to students. But word spread quickly after his motorcade and security detail were spotted.

“The departure was clearly undignified,” said Thomas Becker, a second-year law student who wore the black hood and orange jumpsuit during the protest. “He looked really annoyed.”

A Department of Justice spokesman did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

Gonzales is resisting pressure to resign as lawmakers question whether he could effectively run the Justice Department amid the controversy over the firings of eight prosecutors.

A few students still have balls.

orange jumpsuits reminds me of…propagandhi’s “iteration”

Donald wept through the proceedings. His tears soaked through the canvas that cloaked his twisted face and they stained his orange jumpsuit where with such rare distinction he once displayed the evidence of his outstanding contributions to the maintenance of a kingdom come. But those days are gone. He’s nothing more than a number on a docket thick with shareholders, engineers, PR firms, politicians: war-profiteers. “How the fuck did I end up here? This just isn’t fair. Ain’t no place for a millionaire.” He searches for the words to stop this table in mid-turn, like “we are but old men” and “we only did what we were told”, but the laughter from the gallery drowns out these vestiges of a profession’s oldest defense. “The court will direct the record to reflect compliments from the bench; you sir, are central casting’s crowning achievement. And for your outstanding performance in a comedic role, I’d like to dedicate the findings of the jury to the dead.” But how can one man ever repay a debt so appalling? Can’t gouge 10,000 eyes from a single head so I think we should observe a sentence that will serve to satisfy both a sense of function and poetry: so you will spend the rest of your days drenched in sweat, with your face drawn in a rictus of terror as you remove another buried land mine fuse. Meanwhile, 100 yards back behind the sandbags, a legless foreman pulls the trigger on a red megaphone. Squelching feedback. Drunken laughter. Broken English. His dead daughter’s picture. Time and tide, no one can anticipate the inevitable waves of change.

Gonzolez will never quit, and Bush will never fire him. He insulates the White House. He is a puppet… a lackey. He owes his status in life to George Bush. He sold his soul to power and now there is no place to hide. He must just stand and take public ridicule wherever he goes.

God bless students! Ginzales won’t resign, but Bush may finally ask him to if enough brave souls protest and show that Gonzales represents something decent Americans can’t stomach.

Gonzalez has always reminded me of a cross between a televangelist, a used car salesman, and Jim Jones of Jonestown infamy. He’s the perfect legal frontman for the criminal Bush administration, since he embodies all their sleaziest aspects in one person. I imagine Mexican-Americanas must be very embarrassed to have him out there representing them. There actually are some decent conservatives in this country, but they aren’t to be found in the Bush crowd.

Gonzales won’t resign and Bush doesn’t dare ask him to because of what he ( Gonzo) knows about so much of the inner machinations at the White House. Can’t piss him off, George thinks. he might blow the whistel. The AG has a great deal more power ( information) than is good for him or this Administration. They have to choice but to stick together, and besides, why would Bush fire him???? He has rewarded indecency and incompetence consistently.

I think waterboarding is the only way to get Gonzales to “remember” important information about the firing of U.S. attorneys. After all, it’s an effective interrogation technique, isn’t it?

First of all, don’t think of Gonzales as some kind of permanent installation. He can and probably will be impeached. The reason he’s hanging on by his fingernails is that when he leaves office he will be indicted for obstruction of justice for squashing the investigation of a prison guard, homosexual rape gang in the Texas juvenile detention system. Now why would he do that?

After hearing his querulous little-girl squeak of a voice when he testified, sounding like the epitome of weakness and petulance, I was struck again by the banality of evil. The craven cowards behind the curtain of power.

When I was a young Marine (it almost seems like a million years ago)we were trained in interrogation , and on how to be interrogated. We would all agree on the same lies—i.e. our Battalion Commander was “Col John Wayne”—the EX was Lt/Col Robert Redford, etc. If we were captured and interrogated we would all be saying the same thing, and hopefully trick the captors into believing us.
Mr. Gonzales was a “friend” of Mr. Bush when he was in Texas, and no doubt went to the same school. So “water boarding” would only get the liar to repeat the lies of the other liars—-or—-”roll over on the other criminals” for immunity.

It might be wiser to just let them all go—–

    yea, right!

I think Mr. Gonzales would look very good in prison whites, and he and Mr. Bush, Cheney, and the others could conduct “Inmate Fashion Shows” , between sessions where the floors needed mopping. Condi could pass for a male,(easily) and she could be the one fetching the mop water, a tea spoonful at a time. Colin Powell could be the cell block “punk”——-Rumsfeld the other cell block “punk”—-Tenet could be the “jail house snitch”……………….and “in isolation for his own protection”.

Oh hell line em all up and put them in prison. If you shot them it would euthanasia—-putting them out of their misery…………and they do not deserve that.
But what could you do to punish those fools who voted for the fools.
Oh, oh, I know—–and its going to happen anyway—–make them PAY for all the damages they created with their vote———–by consuming their tax dollars………..on an separate tax. Let’s call it a “stupidity tax”.
Native Americans are required to pay a separate tax on their “per-capita” tribal payments/income at 28%, why not do the same for Americans who vote for people like Bush and Cheney? If you bet on the wrong horse at the track, you loose your money———-”this sounds absurd, but on the other hand it might be the one change to make the “voter” more aware of their decisions and how they impact others as well as themselves………….
So anyone who voted “Repugnican” since 2000 would be required to pay a “stupidity tax”—for the next two administrations—unless another “Repugnican” majority should arise——then make the voters pay a double “stupidity tax”——
They made the decision to put those fools in control, why should everyone else be required to pay for their misjudgment/foolish voting habits.

But then again—–when have the “Democraps” shown themselves to be that different?

You know, I still like the original thought……

Hey “GW” you missed a spot. And ring the mop out better next time.

Great post Commanche. Maybe you & I could command the stun guns. That isn’t torture, right, it’s ‘corrections’.

Now I understand the Neil Young line, “Soldiers are shooting us down/should have been done long ago”.

Don’t get me wrong; I’m not advocating violence. I’m just pointing out that if people were more vocal about the travesties perpretated by this administration the Bushies would be right there firing into the crowds already. The only reason this hasn’t transpired so far is the dearth of citizens unwilling to stand up for their rights. The way the MSM is controlled, and the scant coverage they give to anti-establishment protests (even with hundreds of thousands of participants involved) how would we even know if the bullets started flying. If they can effectively cover up the events of 9/11 the shooting of a few (or few hundred) protesters should be an easy task. Complacency & unquestioning of ‘the big lie’ is our worst enemy. Keep pressing, patriots, the arms of the octopus are being trimmed slowly, but inevitably.

What does Gonzo know about the law anyway? He obviously has never even read the Constitution, and hasn’t tried a case in court in his life, “Doin’ one heck of a job there Gonzee!”
