Congresswoman Barbara Lee, Members of Congress to Hold Press Conference on Dead of Night Removal of 2001 AUMF Repeal Amendment

WASHINGTON - Congresswoman Barbara Lee will hold a press conference with Members of Congress and outside organizations today, July 19th following the end of the first vote series, at approximately 2:30 p.m. EST, to denounce the stripping of her bipartisan amendment to repeal the 2001 AUMF from the FY2018 DOD Appropriations Act in the dead of night.

As the only Member of Congress to vote against the Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) in 2001, Congresswoman Barbara has consistently urged Congress to repeal the AUMF and remove the blank check it gives the President to wage war.
