People’s Watch To Host Rally Ahead of BIF Vote, Demanding Congress Pass The Most Progressive Reconciliation Package Possible

WASHINGTON -

On September 30th at 12:00pm EST, People’s Watch, a coalition of progressive organizations, will be rallying on the lawn in front of the House Capitol steps, demanding that Democrats pass a bold $3.5 trillion reconciliation package with climate provisions, a pathway to citizenship and more. This rally comes ahead of the anticipated bipartisan infrastructure vote, which progressives have vowed to ensure doesn’t pass before the $3.5 trillion reconciliation package.

This comes after a week of high pressure protest by People’s Watch, who have held large scale protest rallies, birddogs of secretive, non-committal politicians, and most recently dropped three massive banners calling for Democrats to deliver at the Congressional baseball game.

WHAT: People’s Watch Rally
WHEN: Thursday, September 30th, 12:00pm EST
WHERE: Lawn in Front of House Capitol Steps
WHO: People’s Watch Activists, Members of Congress
WHY: We are at a moment of life or death for our democracy, our communities, and our planet. Voters delivered Democrats a majority; now it’s time for Democrats to deliver for the majority of Americans and pass a bold reconciliation package that boldly invests in our infrastructure, provides a pathway to citizenship, creates millions of good paying climate jobs, and more.
