Protests Across Britain in Global Day of Action Against War in Ukraine

CND and Stop the War are organising protests and vigils around the country as part of a global day of action against the war in Ukraine. Protests are taking place in cities across the USA, Australia, Japan, South Korea and all over Europe.

CND and Stop the War are organising protests and vigils around the country as part of a global day of action against the war in Ukraine. Protests are taking place in cities across the USA, Australia, Japan, South Korea and all over Europe. Here in the UK there are over 40 protests arranged for this weekend, from Aberdeen to Totnes. In London there will be a march from BBC Broadcasting House, Portland Place (assembling midday) to Trafalgar Square where a rally will take place.

Speakers include: Bruce Kent, Tariq Ali, Victoria Brittain, Jeremy Corbyn MP, Andrew Feinstein, Lindsey German, Chris Hazzard MP, Kate Hudson, and Larissa Kennedy.

The war in Ukraine is a disaster for the people of Ukraine and a terrible threat to us all, increasing the danger of nuclear war. We demand the immediate withdrawal of all Russian troops. We demand an end to NATO expansion. We oppose sanctions that will harm ordinary Russians. We say no to nuclear war and call on all countries to welcome refugees fleeing the war.

CND campaigns non-violently to rid the world of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction and to create genuine security for future generations. CND opposes all nuclear and other weapons of mass destruction: their development, manufacture, testing, deployment and use or threatened use by any country.
