Stand Up America Drives 20,000 Constituent Calls To The Senate In 17 Hours Demanding Trump Conviction And Disqualification

Group also drove 28,000 calls to House ahead Of Trump’s second impeachment.

WASHINGTON

Following yesterday's bipartisan vote in the House of Representatives impeaching Donald Trump for a second time, Stand Up America immediately mobilized its community members to pressure senators to vote in favor of convicting, removing, and disqualifying him from holding federal office again in the future. In the 17 hours just after the vote, the group's members made more than 20,000 calls to their senators' offices, reaching every single senator.

"His high crimes are too grave to ignore and the danger he poses too great to allow Donald Trump to remain in office--or ever hold it again. The Republicans who voted against impeachment put their loyalty to a seditious president over their duty to support and defend our Constitution," said Sean Eldridge, Founder and President of Stand Up America, after yesterday's impeachment vote. "The Senate must now move as quickly as possible to convict, remove, and disqualify Trump from ever seeking federal office again."

Ahead of the impeachment vote in the House of Representatives, Stand Up America helped community members make over 28,000 constituent calls to the House of Representatives since last Friday urging them to immediately vote to impeach Trump, including more than 10,000 calls to Republican lawmakers in the days leading up to the vote this week.

In 2019 and 2020, the group was one of the leading grassroots organizations pressuring Congress to impeach and remove Trump from office, driving more than 375,000 constituent calls to Congress. Ahead of Trump's first impeachment, Stand Up America joined dozens of coalition partners in organizing the "Nobody Is Above The Law" rallies that mobilized over 200,000 people at 600 events in all 50 states. Following the sham trial in the Senate, the group was one of the coordinators of the 300 "Reject The Cover-Up" events held nationwide.

Stand Up America is a progressive advocacy organization with over two million community members across the country. Focused on grassroots advocacy to strengthen our democracy and oppose Trump's corrupt agenda, Stand Up America has driven over 600,000 phone calls to Congress and mobilized tens of thousands of protestors across the country.
