Gaza is Sinking in a River of Blood: A Message from a Gazan to the World
I want to write about the suffering of my people and my family in these days of siege against the people of Gaza. 888 people have been killed and more than 3700 injured. The Red Cross has accused the Israeli military of repeatedly refusing to allow ambulances to go to Zeitoun area, so those who are injured become those who die; a premeditated and purposeful violation of human rights.
In my house we can't get basic needs. No food. No bread. No fuel. No future. Yesterday, my father went to the bakery at 5 AM. He waited 5 hours to get one loaf of bread, which is not enough for my family because there are 11 of us. So today it was my turn. I went to all the bakeries -- all were closed.
There is no safe place we can go. We cannot communicate with our relatives and friends -- networks are down as missiles rain on our homes, mosques and even hospitals.
Our life is centered around the burials of those who have died, our martyrs, At night our camp, Jabalya Refugee Camp, is a ghost town, with no sounds other than those of Israeli military aircraft.
There is a horror in every minute and it is clear especially in the lives of children. For example, there were five sisters in one family killed from the Israeli occupation while they stayed in their home. But there are 800,000 other children in Gaza, all afraid, all waiting for someone or something to help them. They are caught in a prison that is becoming a concentration camp. Every day we sleep and open our eyes to the Israeli crimes of killing children and women and destroying civilians' homes. My words are unable to convey my feelings about this life in Gaza.
I have two messages to the world, to those who claim they love peace and seek freedom.
Imagine your life consisting of no electricity, destroyed homes, the sounds and strikes of missiles, day and night, and the only hunger as great as that for food is the hunger for an end to this occupation and siege. Imagine it is not just you but your children and your family who tell you through their eyes and cries: "We are afraid of the missiles." "We cannot sleep." "We may never sleep again." Imagine you are the dam and the river of blood has turned into a flash flood. How long could you stand it?
We wouldn't have to stand it any longer if the world stood with us. If they demanded an end to the siege and the killings and demolition of houses for our children. If they demanded assistance reach the people through rallies and sit-ins.
Finally, I invite you to come to Gaza and see the Holocaust. Because despite the siege, the barriers, the killing of my people and homes, and the total destruction of our lives by the Israeli occupation, they can not and will not kill the will of our people for equality and justice.

Want an idea that we can send viral?...On the night of the inauguration...January 20th.....at 8PM....We the People step outside and hold a candle, a flashlight or a torch for the starving and dying children in Gaza...a message to the new president and a message to the new CONgress that we do not support the slaughter of innocent children..............Please send it around to everyone you know......IT'S THE LEAST WE THE PEOPLE CAN DO FOR THE GUILTLESS CHILDREN OF GAZA............
This lighting a candle will certainly make YOU feel better and afterwards you can return to your warm homes and sip a cup of herbal tea. But what will lighting a candle do for the people suffering in Gaza? You gringos are taking the same attitude as with the illegal war in Iraq you allowed to happen. Stop being so passive...WAKE UP....open your eyes and look at what YOU are allowing to happen. Your elected politicians are the terrorists! Shame on you...I say take to the streets....join the rest of the world and protest....have sit in´s...boycott...¿where is your outrage? It´s no wonder the rest of the world hates the americans. Shame on you for supporting such a violation of Human Rights.

Excellent comments Oaxaca,
Indeed many orgainzing centers in the US, have been taken over by middle class, white, new-age or Quaker-influenced types who confuse Pacifism with passivity. And so they call for one more narcissistic, self-indulgent "vigil" or quiet permitted march which the powerful will completely ignore.
This apporach is more than ineffective. This uniquely USAn, bourgeois brand of nonviolent "protest" is practial collusion with the powerful.
Lets make something clear. Getting angry and using strong words is not "violence". Damaging the property of those who support the utterly intolerable status quo is not "violence". Throwing ones shoes at a head of state, while angrily shouting the reason for the action, is not "violence".
Over the past 6 month from Baghdad to Tahiland to Greece and in recent days Oakland, USA, we have seen genuine, unpolite, expresions of rage at the powerful. Yes, property was damaged, but the protestors injured nobody. (The police sure did, though). These actions were of course condemned by the white bourgeois "pacifists" Supposedly one such organizer was crying on the podium, saying "my" work was "destroyed by a group of "anarchists", when the vigorous actions started. "His" work? But guess what? These kind of actions wherever they were held, galvanized the populace, and led to more recognition of the peoples grievances than the last 8 years of "peaceful", "nonviolent" polite permitted protests.
The facts are, the powerful don't change their positions through appeal to be nice, they change when the material costs of not complying with the peoples demands are greater than complying with them.
Or, as they say "direct action gets the goods."
---USAn---
A journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step. Ask most Americans to do anything resembling protest or
revolution and you get silence and excuses. Start with something passive and small and it may lead to something grander and more significant. Scare them away and you have what we have now...fear and plausible deniability.
If they need to approach a protest like a virgin having sex for the first time, than there is something seriously wrong!
There is this emotional thing called OUTRAGE! There is also this this thing called SOLIDARITY and BROTHERHOOD! If you are not feeling those emotions, there isn't much point in going to a demonstration. If you ARE, you will need no cajoling.
But PLEASE! enough of this candlelight vigil Kumbaya stuff!

Why are all nations so scared to DEMAND Israel stand down NOW or the rest of the world will stand them down? Why? This fight is so lop-sided - so unfair! I'm sure one day Israel will find other nations very unfriendly!!!!
the state of israel has become as ruthless and murderous as any nazi would ever dream of becoming
the israelis have been conducting the genocide of the palestinian people for over 60 years and the latest developments are only an indication of how flagrant the murder has become
there should be a lot of people from israel on trial in the hague for war crimes right now
if they are not tried and hung like the scum they are then milosevic should be set free immediatley and charles taylor's trial should be stood down
i must say, the hatred flares in my heart against this scumbag illegitimate state
anyone who knows the history of this place knows the palestinians are the victims of hateful genocide and the fact that the world tolerates it is a testament to how full of shit we all have become
we longer have any moral compass
we no longer give a shit about anyone or anything
the jews want the palestinians out of gaza - makes me sick to see them playing up their victim status up while they blow the brains out of two year old children
the jews started this whole "war on terrorism" back in the seventies and they have made a killing, pardon the pun, out of it
they forget all too easily that all of their prime ministers were terrorists who blew up buildings killing innocent women and children
i guess this is another one of those "if americans only knew" issues
cheers, b
"i guess this is another one of those "if americans only knew" issues"
Actually Americans do know about it ... its just that they dont care. They dont give a shit. Plain and simple. We elected a black man as President so we have a 'moral reprive' for another decade. Let the killing go on ... as long as it doesnt topple ryan seacrest from the headlines its all good.
...and they(the Israelis) want all to remember THEIR past sufferings in the Holocaust, but deny the sixty year ongoing Palastinian "NAKBA."
I have made the picture of a Palestinian mother caught in this ghastly Gazan nightmare the desktop image on my computer. She is hovering over her blood soaked son and while her eyes are hidden, the boy stares up at her. I don't know if death has already visited the boy but his eyes are still open. If he is still alive it is a look of numbness, confusion and shock. It is a horrific image but I should never be allowed to avert my eyes from it until I have lived the rest of my life trying to destroy Zionism.
In my judgement the greatest contribution I can make to that end is to heed the words of Mario Savio applied to the world capitalist economy as it is directed from Washington, D.C.. "There’s a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can't take part, you can’t even passively take part, and you’ve got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you’ve got to make it stop! And you’ve got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it, that unless you’re free, the machine will be prevented from working at all!"
In a more dispassionate and academic vain, I have offered this before.
Under normal circumstances the impending death of a form of racism like Zionism (see the picture of young Israeli girls bused onto military bases as a school-day field trip writing messages and drawing on missile warheads soon to rain down on Lebanon) and the establishment of a secular state on the territory Israel now occupies where Palestinian Arabs of various religious persuasions and Jews could peacefully co-exist as equals would be cause for human celebration. Unfortunately, the panic that clearly grips Israel means they will likely join in U.S. attacks on Damascus and Tehran and resort to the use of the "Sampson Option", their nuclear arsenal, when all else fails. And that, on a larger scale, is the dilemma that the whole world faces as the capitalist system spearheaded by the United States begins experiencing the pangs of its death throes.
Both anti-Semitism and Zionism are the bitter fruits of capitalism. The imperatives of that economic system forced the Jewish people to endure the pogroms and the Holocaust. Meanwhile Zionists, propelled by the same economic dynamic, have since executed their own crimes against humanity. 62-years-ago, an unconscionable attack on the King David Hotel killed Britons, Arabs and Jews. Later would come Sabra and Shatila and now the Zionists are demonstrating in Gaza that Germany's National Socialists had nothing on them for cold-blooded brutality and the capacity for genocide.
Capitalism created the idea of Zionism in its relentless drive to divide and more fully exploit the working people of the world. For the historic moment of capitalism’s rise to planetary dominance Zionism has effectively built a figurative and literal wall between Jewish workers and their non-Jewish brothers and sisters. In the US it has made a distant memory of Jewish leadership of immigrant workers of every stripe in pitched battles on the streets of American cities to form and build the garment and furriers unions. It has squashed the great Civil Rights Era coalition consecrated by the blood of Schwerner, Chaney and Goodman. It has made unity with anyone but the US ruling class all but impossible. Zionism has performed as designed and isolated Jewish workers around the world in a “new Warsaw ghetto” called Israel.
The state that Zionism created has begun sensing its mortality and is thrashing around accordingly. The clearly deranged attack on Gazans and the recent ravings of Israeli intellectual Benny Morris published by the New York Times can now be added to mounting evidence that the guardians of the state are in the grip of panic. It recalls the 2006 attacks on Lebanon and Gaza and the resultant killing of civilians and destruction of infrastructure, the kidnapping of Hamas legislators, the targeting of a U.N. observer post, and the outrage on Qana. Each a desperate act farther outside the bounds of common sense than the one before.
During the fighting with Hizbollah, completely out of the blue on repeated occasions and in leaflets dropped on the Lebanese, Israeli leaders felt compelled to mention their power to erase Lebanon from the planet. A strong and confident force does not act so. The Israelis are seeing their graves in the corner of their eyes and their bully’s trepidation is now growing as the end nears.
Well said but could you elucidate on exactly how anti-semitism and zionism are mandated by capitalism. They do seem like they are both racist excuses to grab wealth. But Isabella of Spain grabbed the jews wealth so she could afford to defeat the Arabs and she was not a capitalist. It is true that in both the former examples it was and is capitalistic nations grabbing the wealth but it does seem to be an imperative of capitalism. I am not defending predatory capitalism --------- Thanks ----- Peace --------
Thank you for you erudite comment. Well said.
"no gods, no masters" --m. sanger
The Palestinians in Gaza are eventually going to have to surrender to Israeli domination of their politics, welfare, and culture because no one is going to come to their rescue. That is unfortunately the way it is. Israel holds all of the cards and they have been planning this diabolical operation since the Palestinians dared to show their free-will a few years ago by democratically electing their own leaders.
My god, Israel has even got Joe the Plummer cheerleading and justifying the slaughter. How can the Palestinians ever get a fair shake when that warmongering a@@hole gets more air time than they do?
It wwill never happen. Palestinians are like all other people who struggle for justice and freedom.
By shooting fish in a barrel with one of the most powerful militaries in the world, Israel tries to prove they are the big swinging dicks on the block. "Never again" is for Jews only--and it has been twisted so that it means they will never again be the victims by being the brutalizers--and still they whine that they are the victims.
Hell, they say you can't condemn the Jews only Israel--but Israel is ONLY Jews and if Jews are blind to the suffering of others outside of their own tribal allegiance--why are they any different than Good Germans? No one let the Germans off the hook.
So, one wrong makes another right or what? You are going down the same path while you complain about the other folks heading the same way. How stupid is that?
Yes, the state of Israel is mainly made up from and for Jews. But there are many more jews around, some agree with Israel, some disagree. So by making this a "jewish" problem you are just showing that you dont understand what racism is about.
Talking about groups like "the jews", "the germans" and so on ... simply doesnt help. As soon as you put people into groups and think "this group is better than another one" ... you are on the wrong way. Because this thinking ("we good; them bad") is ALWAYS the first step towards oppression or worse. How did the white people wipe out the Indians? By very first declaring them "non human", "beasts", "animals".
If you want the world to change; start with your own head and try to get rid of the old stone age concepts that cause such thinking. How can you expect others to act "better" while you are going down the lazy old path of "me good; they bad".
So, you want to put a politically-correct facade on the face of genocide?
Don't think for a blazing second that the attempt to gloss over the reality with calls for civility --or guilt, or any form of political correctness to mask a craven ambition to win any pr battle of lies and manipulation is going to silence me..
We did not give the good Germans a break for their denial--should we coddle the Jews because they avert their eyes in allegiance to their tribe and its rationalizing mythologies? I gotta tell you--and I am not alone, everytime I see a Jew stand and spout Zionist lies, my blood boils. So, wise up, because when the truth starts to leak out--and it has, and people are heading on hard times and they find out where the money is going and they have been lied to and conned and were dragged ME wars their children died in and that Congress has been favoring one influencial minority--there will be blowback.
They are no better than anyone else and if they were as smart as they like to believe they are then they would know the blowback will be fierce.
Once again, the world stands united against Israel and its blind and captive giant genie, the United States.
Our main difficulty in organizing resistance is that we HAVE a police state in which all vigorous dissent is accompanied by militarized police forces, as was the case with the Reptilican convention in September. Broadcast media work primarily within very small containable blocks of space & have ownership whose chief allegiance is to media mythology about alternately suffering & heroic Jews & terrorist Arabs. And there is an equally criminal contingent of neonazis ready to exploit the volatile situation for their own ends. Unlike countries where lunatics have little access to automatic weaponry, the far right militia types have an abundant supply of firearms & have been waiting for some time for civil order to break down in order to use it, as they began to use it in New Orleans.
Rachel Corrie threw her body into the fray in an attempt to waken Americans, and those Americans who were outraged found they had no access to power, and that the broadcast media would never tell the citizenry who Rachel Corrie was.
"The world" knows what is happening. But heads of governments, safe in their limosines and gated fortress homes, don't give a damn.
Americans are quite justly horrified and indignant at what happened on 9/11 when 3,000 people were killed.
GAZA TODAY. The Israelis -- supported with American tax dollars and using American weapons -- have attacked Gaza. So far 888 Gazans have been killed.
The people of Gaza live on the densest, most overpopulated land on earth. Even before the invasion they have suffered inhuman deprivation and much of the population lives with no water.
I just did some calculations based on the Gaza population of 1.3 million people and the U.S. population of 300,000,000 people [there are actually more than that]. If the same killing rate was going on in the United States right now 205,000 AMERICANS WOULD BE DEAD.
And the killing goes on.
Friends, the only ones who can do something about the Israeli atrocities in Gaza is us!
Governments around the world will do nothing for fear of upsetting the militarist, imperialist Israeli-American-UK cabal.
Only we, the little people, can do something. We can march. We can peacefully rebel against our own governments. We can engage in acts which affect the partners in crime.
We are the only hope the Gazans have!
www.dangerouscreation.com
The 'funny' thing about this is, that most democratic governments don't represent their electorate in this at all. They speak for themselves, not for the people who are not in favour of Israel at all. Hamas is certainly not my cup of tea, but invading a 'county' like Gaza, packed with people, just to fight Hamas seems very stupid, PR-wise. Even my parents, staunch Israel-supporters from day 1, think this too horrible.
A river of blood? Really?
What is this, the signs of the Apocalypse?
Let's turn down the volume on the hyperbole, okay?
"Finally, I invite you to come to Gaza and see the Holocaust."
Now this is really offensive. There is only one Holocaust - the haShoah. What's happening in Gaza cannot be compared to the murder and torture of 6 million Jews.
And Joe clueless will remain clueless....Why don't you spend some time in Gaza and let us really know what is happening. Make sure to take your rose-colored lenses along with you too....
For some reason, your comment offends me more. I was trying to discover what it was that elicited my reaction: was it just a knee-jerk reaction (emotional) or was it something less obvious?
YOU may not have seen it on Fox Noise, ABC, NBC, or CBS, but I'VE seen images of rivers of blood; mangled corpses of children half-buried in the rubble of their destroyed homes; limbs and other body pieces littering a streetscape.
I think it was YOUR reflexive retreat to the holocaust of the '40s that so irritated me. It is the standard shield raised by all zionists as a final line of defense when all the rational arguments fail. To begin, I would have to point out that 1/3 of the population of East Timor were massacred by the Indonesian military -- with the overt and willing cooperation of the Clinton administration -- and then remind you of South Africa's apartheid and the Rwanda holocaust. While South Africa may have lingered longer (decades) in the initial stages and became too dependent on their disposable and cheap labor pool to ever move on into the "final" stage, it was also symptomatic of all genocidal regimes: identify, isolate, imprison, inferiorize, and, throughout it all, itemize all the reasons that the crimes you are committing is THEIR fault. In other words, control the message and the medium.
There is a sick kind of irony in the fact that you are all so quick to run back to the past and pull up the atrocities the German state machinery committed against Jews, while at the same time severing all ties to Israel's terrorist beginnings and the injustices and murders and mass evictions Israelis have committed against the Palestinians.
If you can't see the Israel-Palestinian conflict as a holocaust -- a genocidal program unleashed 61 years ago and pushed as far as Israel dare each time, little by little, settlement by settlement, Palestinian by Palestinian -- it is only because you choose no to in order to continue justifying Israel's actions, indeed its existence, at any cost.

CUT me a fucking break. I'm so sick of these whining hate rants against Israel. What are the Israelis supposed to do here? From moment one May 5th 1948 they have been under constant attack from the entire Muslim polity. They are now for some reason seen as this huge Goliath oppressing the Arabs? What BS. None of these posters would tolerate day and night missile attacks and suicide bombers in their communities, but find it easy to blame others who have to suffer this crap. Hamas doesn't want peace , it takes 3 mins. to go to their web sites and read their hate filled rants. They won't be happy unless Israel is gone and every Jew is dead. Then they'll want to be compensated for their trouble. I hate these MOFOs. They're a bunch of cowards that use their own children and women as human bombs and shields. Do these men ever step up and fight themselves? NOT! Instead, they hide behind their women.
As for the rest of u on these sites you enable them so FU too!
Well said, blutodog.
But let's not loose sight of the fact that we are the majority, and these narrow-minded Israel-haters are little more than fringe elements of American society.
Obama supports Israel and her right to defend herself.
The Democrats support Israel's right to defend herself.
Switzerland was the ONLY European country to vote at the UN to condemn Israel for human rights violations against the Palestinians of the Gaza Strip.
Israel has many powerful advocates.
Don't let the rantings of these antisemitic lunatics get to you.
Such hate! So many F.U.s! True Israeli supporters, the two of you!
So now, let's see. So both of you are willing to give your homes (hopefully lived in by your family for generations) to those Palestinians who were forcibly evicted from theirs in order for the anti-Semitic Allied victors in the post-WWII days to arbitrarily create - not out of nothing - from what on every map at the time clearly stated PALESTINE but which was occupied by the British (and so in the war rooms of the U.S. and Great Britain said Palestine Mandate) and - POOF! - a country where there hadn't been one before.
And best yet, the U.S. and England and the newly-liberated France didn't have to take in all those dirty, flea-infested, half-starved, and most important, penniless, displaced persons, aka JEWS! (While we were allowing all kinds of former SS and Nazi Party members into the our land of the free and home of the brave.)
And then Plan D, which called for the slow, methodical, systematic displacement of Palestinian village after village. The slaughters. The massacres. The refugee camps, eventually run by the U.N. but even then not immune from Israeli attacks.
It was a country carved out of the heart of living people and given to desperate people who had no other options. Remember that the British withdrew and the country of Israel was formed because the Irgun - Jewish terrorists - caused the British to grow weary of the bombings, the ambushes, the dead British and Arab civilians.
Jews suffered terribly at the hands of the German military machine, and continue to use that suffering as their excuse for doing the same to the Palestinians. And I guess they have the commandment from their Old Testament make-believe god-in-the-sky to slay every last non-Jew, bashing the heads of babes against the rocks. ("Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity: Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women." Ezekiel 9:5-6)
Apparently Blutodog is beyond ANY kind of human empathy, but I had hope for joehope. I thought he was at least well-intentioned. I think you can say that creating Israel may have been a mistake, but it's done; there's no un-doing it. Even Hamas has offered - over and over - hunda to the Israelis - an INDEFINITE ceasefire, bound by the Koran and Islamic law, which carries with it the explicit recognition of Israel's right to exist, for it can ONLY be offered to a non-Muslim state. All they asked was Israel to return to the internationally-recognized legal boundaries of 1967, which would bring Israel into compliance with U.N. resolutions, and the right of Palestinians to return to their homes that would then be outside Israel, and fair compensation for those within Israel proper.
(Compensation! How dare they! I can see Blutodog's face turning purple with rage! The kind of person who would have taken over an interred Japanese-American's house in 1942 without ever once thinking of fair compensation. No. FU blutodog! Don't like the sentiment here? Go back to Fox Noise's web site and rant with the rest of the crazies.)
Come on, joehope; a little compassion, some long-term perspective. Evil is evil, whether committed by a bad person or someone who means well.
"no gods, no masters" --m. sanger
Israel is willing to return to 1967 borders with only some slight alternations. I know some people throw a fit over the slight differences. But they need to acknowledge that we are no longer living in 1967. We have to deal with reality as it exist now. Even you were willing to make an argument in support of Israel's existence with such an argument.
"I think you can say that creating Israel may have been a mistake, but it's done; there's no un-doing it."
However much I disagree with your sentiments towards the creation of Israel, we both agree there is no un-doing it. They same applies for certain changes that must be made to the 1967 borders.
With regard to Hamas, they have made ceasefires with Israel and then broken them, over and over again. Israel has had to tolerate 8 years of rockets fire from Hamas. All this time, Israel must hold back and show restraint because they have the stronger military. And so Israel does hold back, and back, and back. But eventually something has to give. Israel has to act. Hamas knows this. Why would they constantly provoke Israel with daily barrages of explosives and not expect retaliation? Hamas has brought this on themselves. First they wanted war, a chance to humiliate the Israelis like in Lebanon, yet now they hide behind women and children like cowards. Hamas is not some Let-wing egalitarian revolutionary group, they are Islamic extremists dedicated to the destruction of Israel. They teach children to hate all Jewish people and train young men to be homicide bombers. Have you ever bothered to watch the television they produce? How can anyone support a group like this and still call themselves a progressive?
Statically, it is Israel that has broken ceasefires 90% of the time. It's not about Hamas, Israel has doing the same monstrous things for decades. Remember Jenin? Israel should be given two weeks to pull back to the 1967 borders or it should be forced back to the 1948 boundaries which it was originally granted -- better yet, the whole region could be recognized as Palestine and we could shift our economic support to the Palestine Authority.
The Jaded Prole
Actually every country on the planet except the US HAS condemned Israel for its brutality and abuse of human rights. Also, anti-Zionists in the US are far more numerous than you think. Anti-Zionism is even growing in the US Jewish community.
The Jaded Prole
Joehope and Blutodog: get a room!
"What are the Israelis supposed to do here?" Maybe they could stop enforcing the collective punishment and extreme oppression that fosters resistance. Maybe they could end Zionist apartheid and instead incorporate Palestinians as citizens. It is Israel that has all the power and thus the responsibility. They will never have peace or security by oppressing others.
The Jaded Prole
The last time they let Palestinians walk freely in Israel the Palestinians thought it would be nice to strap bombs to themselves and blow up as many civilians as the could.
There is a reason the check points were created and it was to protect and save Israeli civilians.
The previous post has been brought to you by a Zionist shill.
My sentiments exactly kgarry, the Jewish Holocaust was horrible indeed but history is littered with such evil. The same emotion that drove the Jewish Holocaust is the same emotion driving the Palestinian Holocaust and unless we face up to it nothing will ever change
And you all forgot about the Armenian Holocaust of the Turks, and our own Vietnamese/Cambodian Holocaust.
---USAn---
There is only ONE Holocaust.
There have been massacres, even genocides.
But there has only been a single Holocaust.
The chosen people and the master race...Is the psychology the same?
Get a clue:
http://www.thirdworldtraveler.com/Zinn/RespectingHolocaust.html
What Joe H means is there has been only one capital-H Houcaust - i.e. a systematic murder of the special, superior, God-chosen, Übermenschen known as the Jews. All those other murderous outrages were comitted against inferior, usually darker skinned goyim.
---USAn---
The Cambodians didn't have a holocaust?
Wake up Joe, Zionists are finishing the job Hitler started. They are destroying Jewish culture and stoking global anti-Jewish animosity. Stop being a "good German" and work instead to make Israel live up to its promise by treating the Palestinians as equal members of society instead of like concentration camp inmates.
The Jaded Prole
Yes, thanks. And also Stalin's purges, and christianity's "purges" (beginning with Constantinople) and on and on and on. The rivers merge and become a bloody ocean.
"no gods, no masters" --m. sanger
To protect the Jews it seems we need to take away their guns and relieve them of the burden of having a country. Are you typical proof of that need Joeblow? Get a human life, would you.
The "White Man's Burden" applied to the Jewish people? You are sick, Wayout. Get help.
No it needs to be done to protect the Palestinians.
It is easy to be righteous about what is past and widely considered evil. The brave thing is to see atrocities and speak out when they are still considered acceptable.
Joe
Oh yes it can and it will be. It is man's inhumaninty towards man, made all the worse because we thought Germany and Israel were more civilized than that.
I see, Joe, that you've given up the pretence and have become an all-out supporter of the wanton slaughter being visited upon Gaza by the Israeli forces. But, tell me, where is the "hope" in always seeking to rationalize the massacre of innocents?
There should be stricter requirements for leaders in this world. So far, the ones who have been using this world as their personal ego builder are going to cause the end of all of the generations to come. Israel is a good example.
The sorry part is none of them will suffer for what they have done. They, like Bush, will insist they helped the world, not hurt it.
Since their cohorts do nothing to end their delusions, they are convinced history will see their leadership as they do.
Unless people change the standards upon which their leaders are chosen, nothing will ever change.
