Coalition of orgs call on Biden to support diplomatic end to Russia's war

WASHINGTON -

Today, Demand Progress Education Fund joined a coalition of 13 organizations in sending a letter to President Biden urging his administration to maximize its efforts to support a diplomatic solution to the war in Ukraine and to refrain from steps that would further escalate the war or raise the risk of conflict between nuclear armed powers.

You can view the full letter here.

The letter offers a series of steps that the Biden Administration can take to forward a diplomatic settlement, such as: rejecting escalatory measures such as a no-fly zone; signaling a willingness to lift sanctions as part of the diplomatic process; avoiding a strategy of regime change in Russia; opening direct talks with Russia in coordination with Ukrainian leadership; willingness to accept a range of new security arrangements, including those agreeable to Ukraine that involve sustainable neutrality arrangements while preserving Ukrainian sovereignty.
