WASHINGTON

A motorcade protest of the Trump administration's and Congress's failure to protect Americans during the coronavirus pandemic will take place today, April 23rd from 4 - 6 p.m. EST between the White House and the Trump Hotel in Washington D.C. A minimum of 50 cars is expected: Protestors will stand on cars and hold signs, and then drive to the Trump hotel and deposit body bags on the lawn. In attendance will be several elected officials, as well as representatives from leading progressive organizations that, combined, represent millions of Americans.

This protest is one of a number of mass mobilizations taking place across the country in response to the government's failure to take the bold action the country desperately needs during the pandemic. Yesterday, the Senate passed a devastatingly inadequate stimulus package that will fail to provide working Americans with what they need. Progressive groups have been slamming the Senate-passed relief bill as insufficient and are demanding Congress move quickly on more substantive aid to families and protections for essential workers and elections.

Who: Activists, elected officials, and leaders of progressive groups including Center for Popular Democracy, Indivisible, National Domestic Workers' Alliance, MoveOn and others.

What: Protest against Trump and Congress at their failure to mount a response that will save lives and protect workers and businesses

  • Billboard truck with sound playing Trump's most incoherent COVD press call.
  • Motorcade to Trump Hotel
  • Body bags placed in front of Trump Hotel

All social distancing guidelines will be observed.

When and where: Protest actions begin outside White House between 4 and 5 p.m EST.
