Barry Trachtenberg is a historian of modern Jewish history and the Holocaust. The author of three books, including The Holocaust & the Exile of Yiddish (Rutgers, 2022) and The United States and the Nazi Holocaust: Race, Refuge, and Remembrance (Bloomsbury, 2018), he has testified before Congress on campus antisemitism and provided expert testimony against the Biden administration for its complicity in Israel’s genocidal campaign against Palestinians in Gaza. He serves on the Academic Advisory Boards of Jewish Voice for Peace and the Institute for the Critical Study of Zionism, and is a Faculty Affiliate of the Center for Security, Race and Rights at Rutgers Law School. He holds the Michael H. and Deborah K. Rubin Presidential Chair in Jewish History at Wake Forest University.
