Today, the Strengthen Social Security Campaign, which represents a broad and diverse cross-section of the American people, sent a letter to U.S. House of Representatives Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) urging them to appoint to the Joint Select Committee on Budget Deficit Reduction, the so-called “super committee,” supporters of Social Security who understand that the program does not contribute a penny to the deficit and who stand with the American people in opposing cuts to this vital program.

Thousands of Seniors Lobby Congress to Block Social Security Cuts
