Environmental Groups Oppose Funding for Carbon Capture, Blue Hydrogen Schemes

Letter to Congress Demands No Support for Faulty Technologies that Prop Up Fossil Fuels

WASHINGTON

In a letter sent to House and Senate Appropriations Committee leaders today, nearly 200 local, state and national environmental groups demanded that Congress reject new and existing funding for faulty climate proposals such as carbon capture and storage, blue hydrogen, and other fossil fuel-based technologies that would serve to prop up the polluting industry.

The letter was written and facilitated primarily by the national advocacy group Food & Water Watch, and was signed by groups including Sierra Club, Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth, Indigenous Environmental Network, Institute for Policy Studies and Oil Change International.
