MoveOn Demands the FCC Keep Obama’s Promise to Uphold Net Neutrality
WASHINGTON - Statement from Anna Galland, executive director of MoveOn.org Civic Action:
"An open internet levels the playing field in our democracy. That's why it's alarming that FCC Chair Tom Wheeler has proposed rules that would break President Obama's promise to uphold Net Neutrality -- rules that could destroy the internet as we know it. MoveOn members strongly support Net Neutrality and call on the FCC to scrap its proposed rule rolling back this bedrock principle of an open internet."
FRIENDS: Now More Than Ever
Independent journalism has become the last firewall against government and corporate lies. Yet, with frightening regularity, independent media sources are losing funding, closing down or being blacked out by Google and Facebook. Never before has independent media been more endangered. If you believe in Common Dreams, if you believe in people-powered independent media, please support us now and help us fight—with truths—against the lies that would smother our democracy. Please help keep Common Dreams alive and growing. Thank you. -- Craig Brown, Co-founder
