WASHINGTON

Today, NARAL Pro-Choice America released its 2014 Voter Guide-the only national voter guide that rates the choice position of candidates running for all federal offices, as well as those seeking governorships in November. This voter guide is an instrumental resource in arming voters with the information they need to support pro-choice candidates. It will be continuously updated as filing deadlines, primaries and candidate engagement shapes races moving into November, reminding users to check the guide throughout the cycle and share with their networks as their primary date approaches.

"Cycle after cycle, we see that when voters know a candidate's position on reproductive rights, it sways their decision to support pro-choice candidates," said Ilyse Hogue, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America. "America is a pro-choice country and this voter guide helps take steps to insure that our state and federal officials mirror those values. Recent attacks on women's reproductive freedom stem from too many politicians staying mum on these critical issues when they are running and then using their office to pass dangerous laws that roll back women's freedom and put our health at risk. This guide will serve as a tool for voters and the media to ask these important questions and get answers."

This guide will serve as a resource for all voters who want to know which candidates make the grade as protectors of reproductive freedom, and those who would threaten this right. In addition to being a living document that is updated as races develop and alert voters to important dates with easy to share functionality, the guide links to local articles that matter to the electorate and to our affiliates' voter guides to provide comprehensive information down the ballot.

Anti-choice politicians currently hold 22 of 36 open House seats, 21 of 36 governor seats and 3 of the 7 open Senate seats. This voter guide is the first step in holding politicians accountable and making sure that the laws they enact reflect the values of their constituents.

For over 50 years, Reproductive Freedom for All (formerly NARAL Pro-Choice America) has fought to protect and advance reproductive freedom at the federal and state levels—including access to abortion care, birth control, pregnancy and post-partum care, and paid family leave—for everybody. Reproductive Freedom for All is powered by its more than 4 million members from every state and congressional district in the country, representing the 8 in 10 Americans who support legal abortion.
