Do I need to pay to read Common Dreams?

No. Common Dreams is free to all and always will be. We believe everyone should have access to our journalism, regardless of their financial situation. That’s why we will never have a paywall. Is my donation to Common Dreams tax-deductible?

Yes. Common Dreams is a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN #20-3368194), and donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.

We will email you a donation receipt. Please keep this, as it is your official record to claim your donation as a tax deduction.

How can I update or cancel my monthly donation?

You always remain in full control of your monthly donation, and you’re free to change or cancel it at any time.

Most monthly donations are processed by FundraiseUp and can be managed through our donor portal at giving.commondreams.org. You will be asked for your email, and a login link will be sent to you. No password is required. In the portal, you can update your payment method, change your donation amount, or pause or cancel your donation.

If you're unable to access your donation through the portal, it may have been processed by ActBlue or PayPal:

  • ActBlue donations must be managed directly through your ActBlue account. View instructions.
  • PayPal donations started before October 18, 2023, must be managed directly through your PayPal account. View instructions.

As a nonprofit with no billionaire backers, paywalls, or advertising, Common Dreams relies entirely on reader support.
