Republishing Our Work

Thank you for your interest in republishing our work.

All of Common Dreams' articles—except those re-published from other sites— are published under a Creative Commons 3.0 license. This means you may republish and share our articles for free as long as you follow the terms of the license including not using our content for commercial purposes.

If you wish to republish an article, we request that you:

  • Credit us. Please include the full name of the writer in the byline and attribute the article to Common Dreams with a link to the original URL of the article.
  • Include all of our links. If you’re republishing online, please link to the URL of the article on commondreams.org and include all of the links from our article.
  • Edit the canonical metadata. Please edit the “rel=canonical” tag in the HTML of your version of a Common Dreams article to let search engines know that ours is the original version. The tag looks like this: <link rel=”canonical” href=”https://www.sampleURL.com” />. Please make sure that the Common Dreams article URL is in the tag and not a URL from your website. For more information about canonical metadata, refer to this Google SEO link.
  • Do not edit our material. You can’t edit our material, except to reflect relative changes in time, location and editorial style.
  • Do not republish accompanying photographs or illustrations, unless licensed to do so. You are welcome to omit our images or substitute with your own.
  • Do not sell our material or syndicate it. This includes publishing or syndicating our work on platforms or apps such as Apple News, Google News, etc.
  • Do not republish all of our articles. You can’t republish all of our content automatically; you must select stories to be republished individually.
  • Provide contact information. Any website our articles appear on should include prominent contact information.
  • Tag us in your social media posts. If you share republished versions of our articles on social media, we’d appreciate being tagged in your posts. We have official accounts for Common Dreams on Twitter (@commondreams) and Facebook.
