Thank You Sen. Schumer for Refusing to Fund Trump’s Border Wall
Immigrant advocates condemn waste of tax dollars on ridiculous wall
New York, NY - On Tuesday, U.S. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and incoming House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) met with President Trump, and refused a deal that would provide funding for a wall along the U.S Southern border.
President Trump is threatening to shutdown the government if Congress doesn’t fund the wall as part of the Department of Homeland Security budget.
Steven Choi, Executive Director of the New York Immigration Coalition, issued the following statement:
“We're glad to see the Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, our Senator from New York, standing strong by refusing to waste tax-dollars on Trump's ridiculous wall. Americans across the country are counting on him, and our immigrant communities thank you. The United States can not afford a Trump shutdown.”
