Sunrise Movement Day of Action in 70+ Cities and Towns Sparks Members of Congress to Sign Good Jobs for All Pledge

WASHINGTON

On Wednesday, Sunrise Movement members showed up in over 70 towns and cities across the country to demand politicians sign the Good Jobs for All pledge. From Asheville, NC to South Bend, IN to Cleveland, WA, Sunrisers made their voices heard, pressuring their elected officials to commit to investing $10 trillion over the next decade to guarantee good jobs for all and tackle the climate crisis. Political targets ranged from local statewide electeds to U.S. Senators, including Senator Kyrsten Sinema, who Sunrise is also calling on to abolish the filibuster.

These mass actions kicked off a nationwide, multi-month campaign led by Sunrise Movement to call on Congress and Joe Biden to strengthen the infrastructure package to meet the scale and urgency of the crises we face. And as a result of the rallies convened across the country, new members of Congress from both red and blue states signed onto the Good Jobs for All Pledge.

The text of the pledge is as follows, and the full list of partners and members of Congress who have now signed on to the pledge are below.

"I commit to doing everything in my power to pass legislation that guarantees good jobs for all, invests $10 trillion over the next decade to create millions of union jobs addressing the crises of climate change, economic inequality, and systemic racism, and puts money into the hands of people and communities, not the wealthy few."
