Healthcare Reformers Hold Reception for Congressional HR 676 Caucus at Democratic National Convention, Tues. Aug 26
Event to Celebrate Broad and Growing Support for 'Medicare for All' and Guaranteed Healthcare
DENVER - The California Nurses Association/National Nurses Organizing Committee (CNA/NNOC/AFL-CIO), and Progressive Democrats of America will hold a reception at the Democratic Convention in honor of the 92 members of the Congressional HR 676 Caucus.
WHAT: Reception for Congressional HR 676 Caucus
WHEN: Tuesday August 26, 6:30 to 10:00 p.m.
Program at 7 p.m., music at 9 p.m.
WHERE: Colorado Convention Center, The Four Seasons Ballroom 1
Speakers will include CNA/NNOC co-president Deborah Burger, RN; Greg Junemann, Chair of HR 676 Labor Caucus and President of the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE), Dr. Claudia Fegan, past President of Physicians for a National Health Program; and other special guests.
Famed Latin jazz musician Poncho Sanchez and his band will perform at 9 p.m.
The 92 Congressional caucus members sponsoring HR 676 will be honored at the reception, as will some 10 different Congressional candidates who have endorsed the measure and who pledge to focus on guaranteed healthcare in office.
They will be joined by nurses from around the country, as well as representatives from Physicians for a National Health Program and the HR 676 Labor Caucus, which features many of the more than 425 labor organizations who have endorsed the bill. Also in attendance will patients who have been hurt by the delay and denial of care that is endemic to the American healthcare system.
