Patriotic Millionaires on Tax Cuts 2.0: "We Won't Forget Come November"

"Voting for this legislation is nothing more than a puffed-up political PR stunt"

Today, after the passage of the "Tax Cuts 2.0" package of legislation in the House, Chair of the Patriotic Millionaires Morris Pearl had the following statement:

Statement from Morris Pearl, Chair of the Patriotic Millionaires:

"Today the GOP doubled down on last year's giveaway to the donor class known as the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Tax Cuts 2.0 gives nearly $3 trillion to the wealthiest Americans, and will become yet another excuse for Republicans to slash Medicare and Social Security. At a time when the economy is booming but real wages are stagnant for working Americans, it is unthinkable that the House GOP once again rammed through legislation that will do little for everyday Americans. Voting for this legislation is nothing more than a puffed up political PR stunt. The legislation is actually thinly veiled cuts for the wealthy, not for everyday Americans.

Well House GOP, Americans aren't fooled. And they won't forget come November how you voted.

The Patriotic Millionaires is a group of high-net worth Americans who share a profound concern about the destabilizing level of inequality in America. Our work centers on the two things that matter most in a capitalist democracy: power and money. Our goal is to ensure that the country's political economy is structured to meet the needs of regular Americans, rather than just millionaires. We focus on three "first" principles: a highly progressive tax system, a livable minimum wage, and equal political representation for all citizens.
