A panel at the 40th annual Congressional Black Caucus legislative conference titled "Health care reform: Where do we go from here? Moving America toward affordable health care for all"
this Thursday, Sept. 16, at 2 p.m. EDT. The panel will include several
nationally recognized advocates for single-payer national health
insurance - an improved Medicare for all - who believe the new health
law, despite some of its beneficial provisions, will not resolve the
nation's health care crisis and that more fundamental reform is needed.
At
least one of the panelists, Dr. Quentin Young, will also comment on the
Census Bureau's new tally of the number of uninsured in the United
States. The bureau's figures, which are expected to be higher than
last year's figure of 46.3 million, are being announced that same
morning. Dr. Young and other PNHP spokespersons will be available for
comment on this matter throughout the day.
