POGO Echoes Today’s Bipartisan Request for a Presidential Review of SIGAR
WASHINGTON - "As an organization that has exposed serious contract violations in Afghanistan, POGO has first hand knowledge of the importance of the Office of the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction's (SIGAR) mission. For that reason, POGO echoes today's bipartisan request for a presidential review of SIGAR. This request - from Senators McCaskill (D-MO), Collins (R-ME) and Coburn (R-OK) - is of the utmost necessity considering our planned intensification in Afghanistan as well as SIGAR's well-documented shortcomings. We hope that the requested review will facilitate constructive changes that will strengthen SIGAR's ability to act as a tough and effective watchdog."
