I've been watching CNN/US since just before 3pm ET. The International feed, which I can't access from here, usually performs better than this on distasteful things like climate meetings, but here's the rundown of top news since the top of the hour.
In an hour's newscast, there was no mention of one of the largest gatherings of heads of state ever at the Paris Climate Summit. Here are the things that, ummmm, Trumped the story:
3:01 pm: Colorado Springs shooter arraignment
3:04 pm: Police indictment for Baltimore killing in April.
3:06 pm: Bomb threat closes University of Chicago
3:08 pm Police indictment for Chicago killing last year.
3:10 pm Live report from Paris!!! But it's all on chasing one of the ISIS suspects, no mention that there's any kind of meeting going on.
3:15 pm Commercial break
3:16 pm Commercial for American Petroleum Institute
3:17 pm Commercial for Valero oil.
3:18 pm Back to the news: Trump!!
3:24pm Commercial break. Contains no petroleum.
3:28pm Chris Christie gets a key New Hampshire endorsement!! Says snarky things about Trump.
3:29pm Ted Cruz says bad things about Trump. CNN in-house pundit Gloria Borger gives us the scoop.
3:34pm CNN breaks into Trump news for liveshot from NYC on Trump's meeting with black pastors.Black pastor Darrell Scott condemns Liberal media, endorses Trump.
3:36pm Trump takes over live shot, fields reporter questions as only he can.
3:42pm Trump leaves. CNN dumps out of live shot. Buh-bye, black pastors.
3:43pm More Trump analysis from in-house pundit Gloria Borger.
3:45pm Commercial break.
3:49pm Q&A with CNN reporter at NYC Trump meeting at Trump Tower. Reporter explains that when Trump sees a group of reporters, "he is inclined to answer our questions."
3:52pm Live shot from Colorado Springs arraignment.
4:00pm Arraignment ends.
4:01pm New news hour begins, with a story from Paris!! Anchor Jake Tapper tells us about the ISIS suspect, says President Obama "is in Paris right now." They show a Reuters still of Obama and Putin, who are "discussing global terror."
4:02pm I can't watch any more.
Note: The re-circulating news crawl on the bottom of the screen included quotes from Obama and French President Hollande, as well as "violent (police) clashes with climate change activists."
The latter suggests that the "violent clashes" extended beyond a small group of anarchists who were thoroughly disowned by climate advocacy groups, and by President Hollande.
