Women's Group to Fox News: #FireTuckerCarlson

Ultraviolet continues urging Fox News to fire Carlson after degrading Miss Teenage USA comments surface

WASHINGTON

Earlier this week, UltraViolet, a leading national women's organization, called on Fox News to fire Tucker Carlson for his overtly sexist comments and defense of domestic abusers and child rapists.

More recent developments show Carlson making sexist and demeaning comments about the 2007 Miss Teen USA contestant from South Carolina in a newly unearthed recording, joking about sexual activity with the then 17-year-old girl and the girl's intelligence.

Statement from Shaunna Thomas, co-founder of UltraViolet, a leading national women's advocacy organization:

"Fox News should fire Tucker Carlson immediately. As if defense of domestic abusers and child rapists weren't bad enough, the additional recording of Carlson making comments about having sex with a minor prove that these remarks aren't one-offs, but rather a pattern of degrading women, making light of sexual abuse, and making perverted comments about young girls. It's time for Fox News to cut ties with Tucker Carlson."

UltraViolet is a powerful and rapidly growing community of people mobilized to fight sexism and create a more inclusive world that accurately represents all women, from politics and government to media and pop culture.
