Cadet Bone Spurs Tells the People He Rips Off, Trash Talks, Exploits and Blocks They Are Why the Nation Thrives In Freedom, and It Does Not Go Well
So the guy whose slimy daddy got him five free passes from our imperial wars, whose party has blocked 56 veterans' bills, who's stolen millions from vets' charities, trash-talked Gold Star families, blocked 500,000 VoteVets members, tried to ban disabled vets from selling their sad wares near his gold palace and once evicted a vet with a therapy dog was just booed and shunned at NYC's Veterans Day Parade as he extolled "the righteous might" of the US military. Shameless hypocrisy thy name is.

Okay Kids Do Your Thing
It seems Trump's desperate quest to find a public sports event that won't boo him off the planet has already run into a couple of glitches: The handlers of the Baby Trump balloon quickly raised enough money to get their VIP (very important protester) to the game, and Alabama's earlier warning to students not to engage in "disruptive behavior" clarified, after backlash, that it " strongly affirms its belief in free speech." So yeah. Let the booing begin.

As Maine Goes
Maine's election of Safiya Khalid as the first Somali-American on the Lewiston City Council made national news, as it should. But Khalid's victory is just part of a heartening trend in the country's whitest state, where "from away" once meant hailing from the next town. On Tuesday, nine brown and black immigrants also won office as "people who look different realizing we need a seat at the table." Working together, says one, "we will all rise together.”

It's Zero Hour: Activists Chain Themselves to Pier To Block Shipment For TMX Pipeline
At least five activists were arrested Tuesday for blocking a shipment of pipeline for Canada's much-hated TMX project by locking themselves to the dock in Vancouver WA where it was to be unloaded. The action by Portland Rising Tide was the third targeting the port for its role in transporting particularly heavy, dirty Alberta tar sands crude for a $7.4 billion project that environmentalists, First Nations, and many others view as a disaster in the making.

The Right To Live In Peace: This Is Not Over
Thousands of Chileans again filled the streets Monday in a mega-rally to kick off the third week of protests against the country's "savage capitalism" and rising inequality under billionaire President Sebastián Piñera. Amidst much drama - like a silent march by 1,000 women to mourn the victims - the most searing moment has been the lifting of a million-plus voices in Santiago to join in Victor Jara's call for "a chain that will succeed/the right to live in peace.”

Everybody Hates You
For solace to start the weekly madness, this happened: Several judges blocked Trump's new rule change barring immigrants who can't afford health care, an 8-year-old girl easily climbed over his "impenetrable" wall, drug smugglers easily cut through it with a $100 saw, and the Mob-Boss-In-Chief was again thunderously booed in public, this time at a UFC fight by bros who should totally be his crowd. The sound of patriotism - it should be his new ringtone.

This Is About Human Beings
Amidst Russia, Ukraine, corruption et al, it's still the cruelty that sticks in our gut. A recent, wrenching Abrazos no Muros/Hugs Not Walls event at the border offered a grievous glimpse of it as families, often divided for years, waited hours for a sternly supervised, precisely timed, invariably weeping three-minute hug in a culvert in the Rio Grande. The action is "rooted in love, but also protest,” said organizers. “Walls don’t work. Walls only separate families.”

Syphilitic Chimpanzees Inc.
We can't even (again). The "president's" team just released a "fine art" poster for Halloween. Titled "HOAXUS POCUS!" i t urges " STOP THE WITCH HUNT!" It (sort of) shows " Shifty Schiff, Nervous Nancy (and) Hack Jerry Nadler" as the witches in Hocus Pocus. It also shows Trump flying over D.C. It prompts many questions: Do they think witches are the hunters in a witch hunt? Ditto deer in a deer hunt? Whose 4th grader drew this? Will this end soon? WTF? Etc.

Won't You Please Come to Chicago/For the Help That We Can Bring
If you missed the glad spectacle of thousands of baseball fans booing and chanting "Lock Him Up" to our as-yet Unindicted Co-conspirator, take heart: The chants and their spirit of resistance trailed him to Chicago, where he met with police chiefs, slammed the sanctuary city as scarier than Afghanistan, and called the chief who snubbed him "a disgrace." The mayor, governor and thousands of protesters ardently disagreed; one sign read, "I Could Shit A Better President."

A Lotta Crap
Announcing the death of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, our valiant, humble leader displayed his usual gravitas: He ghoulishly bragged al-Baghdadi "died like a dog," repeatedly thanked Russia but didn't tell Congress, posted a staged photo - he was golfing at the time - of watching the raid, didn't note that his Syria withdrawal hampered the raid and his language will likely further inflame the region, and made up most of the details. So good work, Private Bone Spurs.
