Kristen Ess Schurr is a journalist and activist, working since the mid-1990s across the globe from the West Bank and Gaza Strip to New York City, Quebec, Seattle, Lebanon, Jordan, and now Los Angeles. As CODEPINK’s LA Coordinator, Administrator, Locals Support and Store Manager, Kristen organizes actions and supports campaigns for peace and justice with a particular passion for ending the Israeli occupation of Palestine and all US-backed foreign wars. The Irvine 11: Islamophobia is Alive and Well
The Irvine 11 verdict has just come in, Friday September 23. All guilty, all charges. Students and organizers say this selective prosecution will not thwart their efforts in future protest. I had the opportunity to address a press conference alongside the Shura Council, Council on American Islamic Relations and Jewish Voice for Peace among others, after closing arguments on Monday.
