  • Participate into today's #DayWithoutAWoman
Today is International Women's Day and women and their allies across the world are acting together for equity, justice, and the human rights of women and all people, through a one-day demonstration of economic solidarity.

Anyone, anywhere, can join in one or all of the following ways:
    • Women take the day off, from paid and unpaid labor
    • Avoid shopping for one day (with exceptions for small, women- and minority-owned businesses).
    • Wear RED in solidarity with A Day Without A Woman (Check out #WearRed on social media)
  • Learn more on the Women's March and International Women's Strike (IWS) websites
  • Tell people what you're fighting for, and encourage them to join the cause, by sharing your story/demand using the #IStrikefor hashtag
  • Find events and actions by location here

FRIENDS: Help Us Fight

Independent journalism has become the last firewall against government and corporate lies. Yet, with frightening regularity, independent media sources are losing funding, closing down or being blacked out by Google and Facebook. Never before has independent media been more endangered. If you believe in Common Dreams, if you believe in people-powered independent media, please support us now and help us fight—with truths—against the lies that would smother our democracy. Please help keep Common Dreams alive and growing. Thank you. -- Craig Brown, Co-founder
