Patrick Barrett, Ph.D., is the Managing Director of the Havens Wright Center for Social Justice at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He writes and teaches about US and Latin American politics. He is co-editor of "The New Latin American Left: Utopia Reborn," and his work has appeared in a variety of academic and alternative media outlets.
