Sharan Burrow was re-elected for a third term as General Secretary of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) at its 4th World Congress in December 2018. The ITUC is the world's peak labour union body and represents 207 million workers in 163 countries and territories, and has 331 national affiliates.
