William Moomaw

  • William Moomaw is a physical chemist who has taught environmental science and climate diplomacy for nearly 60 years, and conducted research on means for slowing and reversing rising temperatures and climate change.. A lead author of five reports by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) including the 2007 report awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, he lives in Massachusetts. In 2019 the Native Tree Society named a tree for Bill in the Grove of Elders in the state’s Mohawk Trail State Forest to honor his outstanding work on climate change.
