CREW Calls for FCC to Revoke Mudoch's Broadcast Licenses
Today, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) sent a letter to Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Julius Genachowski asking the FCC to revoke the 27 Fox broadcast licenses News Corp. holds in the United States. Under U.S. law, broadcast frequencies may be used only by people of good “character,” who will serve “the public interest,” and speak with “candor.” Significant character deficiencies may warrant disqualification from holding a license.

CREW Files IRS Complain Against Americans for Tax Reform and Grover Norquist
Today, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) called for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to investigate whether Americans for Tax Reform (ATR) and its president Grover Norquist violated federal law by filing a tax return that left out more than half the political activity ATR conducted in 2010. ATR disclosed more than $4.2 million in independent expenditures to the Federal Election Commission (FEC), but asserted on its 2010 tax return that it spent only $1.85 million on political activities.

CREW Calls for Federal Investigation into Gingrich's Lobbying Activities
Today, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) asked the United States Attorney for the District of Columbia and the FBI to investigate Newt Gingrich and his Center for Health Transformation (CHT) for violations of the Lobbying Disclosure Act (LDA). In 2003, the former speaker lobbied Congress to pass a controversial Medicare reform bill, but never registered as a lobbyist. Mr. Gingrich now claims neither he nor CHT did any lobbying and he was not required to register. This story is not supported by facts.
