America has changed forever, and the global pandemic has only exacerbated the deep divisions that have defined the country in the 21st century. While some people live in relative comfort and privilege, others live in fear for their lives just by being stopped by law enforcement, and everybody’s health is at risk every single day by a government that has failed them. While the stakes have never been higher, the debate on America’s airwaves has not kept pace with those stakes or with the changes that our country has undergone in just the past four years. That’s where the Laura Flanders Show comes in.
The Laura Flanders Show will be a radically different Sunday morning program for a radically different time, bringing a different, forward-looking take on the stories of our time and introducing Americans to the new generation of leaders who are shaping America at this critical moment in our nation’s history. It additionally explores actionable models for creating a better world by reporting on the people and movements driving systemic change. In 2019, that reporting earned Laura the Women’s Media Center’s Pat Mitchell Lifetime Achievement Award, as well as the honor of being awarded the Lannan Cultural Freedom Fellowship.
