A Place Where Ideals Go To Die: Defeat Mitch, Please

Powerhouse Amy McGrath - 44-year-old progressive Democrat who lost her mid-term Congressional race by a whisker, longtime Marine Lieutenant Colonel and first woman Marine pilot to fly in front line combat, holder of an undergrad political science degree from the U.S. Naval Academy and a Masters from Johns Hopkins, mother of three married to a lifelong Republican and all-round, straight-talking bad ass - is running to unseat Mitch "Treason McTurtle" McConnell, the "monkey wrench destroying the gears of democracy" who likes to boast he's the Darth Vader of the Senate. In her earlier race, McGrath ran a hard-hitting ad that gently nudged the increasingly unpopular McConnell and quickly went viral; in Tuesday's first fiery Senate ad, she is not fooling around. McConnell, she proclaims, represents "everything that's wrong with Washington." "Everything that’s wrong with Washington had to start somewhere," she goes on. "It started with this man, who was elected a lifetime ago, and who has, bit by bit, year by year, turned Washington into something we all despise - where dysfunction and chaos are political weapons, where budgets and health care and the Supreme Court are held hostage, a place where ideals go to die." Team Vader already released a supposed rebuttal, which simply, weirdly quotes all her eloquent, compassionate, right-on positions - the wall is stupid, a woman should control her own body, she wants to be a voice for progressive values. "We have to win this," she insists. Yes, please.
