I Know You're Not Thinking, You Never Do: Alleged President to Female Journalists Doing Their Job

Another day, another instance of egregious hostile misogyny by a boorish douchebag drunk on power. At a presser to announce a "new" not-NAFTA, fat-cat-friendly trade deal much like the old one he trashed, President-I-Just-Keep-Becoming-A-Worse-Asshole bullied and belittled two women journalists declining to be distracted by his latest meaningless shiny object, ie doing their tough job. In quick succession, he lashed out at ABC’s Cecilia Vega and CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, belittling and cutting both off - “Don’t do that, that’s not nice” - when they dared to ask about the FBI's bogus investigation of fellow predator Brett Kavanaugh. Later, though, because nobody seemed much interested in his ersatz deal and he can't resist his own shiny objects, Trump launched into an incoherent defense of Kavanaugh, his "beautiful children" and the "drinking problem" Kavanaugh in fact furiously labored to deny even though everyone says and knows he has one.

Trump also rambled his way through an addled riff on beer though he says he's never had one, a gratuitous, entirely unsubstantiated attack on an unnamed Democrat who allegedly likes beer, a self-satisfied boast on the fictional 8 or 9 new plants U.S. Steel is opening except they're not, and a garbled offer of "warmest condolences" to the victims of Indonesia's tsunami, "like people have not seen...the worst of all." Later, amidst a lingering horror on social media toward his abuse of the women journalists, the stalwarts at Fox News tried to defend him, sort of:  "In the environment that we're in - he treats reporters fairly. And he's had this tone since he started out...Continuing to focus on it is actually huge distraction away from the news here." Alas, the news here is his grotesque sexism, along with the army of entitled enabling goons behind him who, as he insulted yet more women, dutifully chuckled. Press corps, you need to have each other's backs, now more than ever.

"Indelible in the hippocampus is the laughter, the uproarious laughter between the two, and their having fun at my expense.” - Dr. Christine Blasey Ford speaking of her assault by Kavanaugh and Judge.
